Just wondering if there are any on board who are hardcore fanatical Indy collectors ?

I mean the kind who have to have EVERYTHING that the license was ever stamped on regardless of how hideous, silly, impractical etc

Lunch boxes, cracking whips, every incarnation on VHS, DVD, Laserdisc. etc
The KENner fig
The proverbial grail : A very RARE but ohterwise undesirable item that you'll pay an arm and a leg for. (Like GI Joe fans after that GI Nurse)

Not meaning to be sarcastic, just wondering how many id yourselves as a Hardcore "INDY" collector and not necessarily a 1/6 collecor whose also an Indy fan

I'll admit my Indy obsession gladly. Started when I was 10 and saw Raiders in 81. Had all the Kenner figs, storybooks, playsets, storybook and record set. All the bubble gum cards etc. Some I still have, some I've sold along the way. Now I have the sideshow Indy stuff, 2 wested Indy jackets, 5 replica fedoras including a HJ, the satchel (MK), couple replica shirt, pant, belt and holster sets, a Dave Morgan whip and another replica whip. I have a 1:1 bust that intend to make a mannequin to put the outfit on. We're the people that can pick out the movie and scene by the turn of the brim, center creese of the hat, length of the jacket or the collar, etc. It's been a lifelong obsession that doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.

Right here! I have (mostly unlicensed) merchandise from figures to real costume gear. In fact, I have an ever growing collection of Indy gear.

The weirdest thing I ever bought were a set of $5 Tennessee Lottery scratch tickets. I didn't win anything.:lol

I know that there are some huge Indy collectors out there. I've seen pics of their collections and they are impressive. Can't say I fall into that camp of buying anything and everything that has Indy stamped on it, but I do consider myself a big fan and own a hodgepodge of items from books and albums to glassware to posters to the higher end PFs. I lost a lot of the items I had when I was growing up and just never bothered to try and replace them (the plastic TLC cups from Taco Bell, for example).

My pride and joy in my collection has to be the original one-sheet Amsel movie poster. I've had it in my collection for nearly 30 years. Even if I don't have room to hang up my other Indy posters, this one I always find a place for.

I don't fit in that category for any license... but always find collections like this fun to look at. But I just need some figures to be satisfied.

I'm more of a TOD junkie. I've gotten everything modern released so far except for the Lego sets :)banghead) and collect it exclusively.

I am a huge Indy fan, but I never went hog wild in collecting stuff for him. But part of that is because I honestly never came across too much merchandising from the films. I had gotten the 3" Indy from Raiders when they were first released, and I desperately wanted the 12" version but never came across it in any store. The closest I came to it was an ad in a Starlog magazine. I would get the movie magazines and comic adaptations, and any other books that I could find. I remember my local library had a book that had the Temple of Doom script (kinda like the old Art of Star Wars books where they had artwork and the script intermixed), but cursed the gods that I could never find it in an actual book store. Once Last Crusade came around, my disappointment in the movie drained any enthusiasm for collecting, and I was in high school by then, so I just wasn't that into toys or memorabilia at the time.

Through the 90s I still kept my passion for Raiders. One of my buddies at work told me that I was the only person he knew that loved Raiders as much as I did, and he was also a big movie guy too. I even tried to write a screenplay (but really just created a treatment for the story) for a 4th Indy movie that involved Short Round and Indy's estranged son--before Mutt ever came into existence.

When I stumbled across a web ad for Sideshow's Indy, it took me way back and ignited that passion for toys I had as a little kid. In fact, it created a new passion that I never knew existed! The SS Indy got me into this whole new world of collecting high end 1:6 figures, and I've been getting more Indy stuff recently because of Crystal Skull. I've been having a bad job situation, so it's prevented me from getting things like Sideshow's idol and I've been wanting a whip (maybe not as good as a Morgan, but something functional and accurate) since forever. But the whip was something I never knew I could get either until now that I'm skint. :(

So, when I had money in my pocket, I didn't know certain things were out there to get. Now that I know where to find things, I don't have the cash to get them! Isn't it funny how life works?

I have everything from film trailers from theatres, banners and posters, to cereal boxes and Dr. Pepper, prop replicas, figures, whatever.

You're missing out sir, I have two Temple of Dooms. :wave

Don't you mean you have two Temples of Doom?

i also have a wested raiders jacket that i wear all the time. For me indy has turned into an obsession that lay relatively dormant until kotcs was released and all the new merchandise and collectables have been produced to coincide with this renewed interest in my childhood hero. In that regard i thank kotcs

Impressive collection you got there. Mola Ram looks great and I MAY just have to pick him up now that I'm hooked with my TOD Indy pf.

BTW what massive Indy is that next to Jaws? It looks really well detailed.

Wow, what is that Last Crusade poster that you have hanging on the wall? I've never seen that before.
