Like many of you, I have approximately 80 bajillion DVD's and Blu-Ray discs. I just filled up another shelf, and I'm debating whether to add another shelf (which means lest display space for figures and statues) or come up with some other idea.

I'm currently thinking of getting a couple "jukebox" type disc selector gizmos like this: https://www.efendos.com/fm-donm-293400.html or maybe go full ghetto and stuff 'em in a binder.

I'm sure some of you have had similar dilemmas. What was your solution?

edit: found an existing thread, but it's mainly focused on "displaying", I'm more interested in efficiency. https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80855

Check this homie, my buddy uses a combination of this https://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/s...&storeId=10151&langId=-1&partNumber=DVPCX995V and this [ame]https://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDP-CX7000ES-Blu-ray-Changer-Black/dp/B002JIMRFC[/ame] for his movies. With over 4000 dvds and almost 1500 blu-rays, he has a dedicated room for his home theater that houses them. He managed to sync them up to a dedicated media computer so if he wants a movie, he can search for it and it will pick the movie from one of the disc changers and play it.

Color me ghetto then. Since the lil ones have grubby hands and LOVE to destroy DVD cases, I put all standard DVDs in a big binder and stored the cases. The Blus however are still stored in their cases on a shelf since I dont have many.

I have a large storage closet in my family room with floor to ceiling shelving in it. So it's basically a DVD library. I don't have many movies. Cd's are my main problem. Thousands of cds in my collection. Don't know what to do with em all, and can't stop buying em.

I like that blu ray disc changer....but I don't like that $900 price tag

I use these dvd/cd tower shelves, they are 19.99 and about 5 1/2 feet high. I have no use for the cd plastic trays on the side so l just pulled them out and cut some matching wood for shelves and pin nailed them in place. I can put about 100 dvd in each case.

:lol That's like a step up from:

I converted to plastic sleeves that are kept in some fancy boxes. Got the things from Target. Certainly cuts down on space but I sorta miss easily scanning the shelf for what I want.

I would actually prefer that look as well but my wife wants them hidden so I used the extra space to display other ____. I think she would prefer the movies on display now. :lol

The wifey initially wanted them closed off too, but I talked her into picking up a single shallow one sans door (measly $60) to show her what they looked like. Now we have 5 for our DVDs and the shallow cases mean no ____ing tchotchkes so it was a WIN WIN! :yess: :lol

What do you mean? Any open shelf for dvds is basicly like a book shelf. Those shelves are the nices dvd shelves l have seen for the price, they look no different then the expensive ikea ones.

The Ikea ones aren't expensive at all and yes, they look WAY different. :lol
