is it just me or it doesn't look like the prototype pics. Seems like a lot of space between the dome and the shoulders. But it definitely looks like a better head sculpt than the ESB 1:6

I'd have to see more angles though

I thought this too, I actually prefer the longer dome but I'm no expert still a newb to star wars. It's missing the writing on chest panel too.
Seriously hope this turns out amazing!

Ahoy!
So I was in New York this weekend for Comic Con and spent a good deal of time looking this guy over.
I don't know Shipmates... As many point out, the base body proportions are a bit odd. Before I could open my mouth, my wife said "he looks really small, like a kid wearing a Vader suit". I almost tried to defend it, but it's true. Everything, so far as the armor and helmet(despite the split tusks) looks pretty nice, but the proportions of the base body are bizarre. They may have made it the right height, but the boots and shin guards are enormous (going well up the thigh). The head does float a bit over the body, as well.
I stood there doing a mental checklist of the mods I need to address and began to second guess my order.
On top of all that, in person it looks a little underwhelming. I felt the same way when I opened the 1/4 scale Fett. It looks like a figure that was scaled up, and not a figure conceived in 1/4 scale. They need to spend a little more time with the paint/finish to make it worth the bucks.
Of coarse, a lot of these issues can be futzed into a decent presentation (like Fett), but the body will need work.

I hope I'm not coming across as overly critical, but I guess I've been looking forward to this one for so long that my expectations are just plain unrealistic I suppose. It does look good in pictures though...
I'm holding on to the order, because I know with some time and effort it'll turn out well.
Cheers

Vader just got released in HK, pictures should be incoming soon.
I'm willing to do a lot of work on this if necessary, but of course hope I don't have to. :lol
The most important aspects for me are that the helmet, dome, and shoulder armor are true 1:4 scale. Body proportions can always be altered underneath the suit.

The pics on FB look good. He still looks a little on the skinny side, but I?m digging him. Waiting to see some unaltered photos and get an idea of the brightness of the saber, which I?m hoping is better than the 1/6 versions. I?ve purged my 1/4 figures and have been going back and forth with canceling this guy, but my love of Vader keeps me from making the phone call.

Glad I went for the exclusive taken mine out on a payment plan due to pay last bit off November 5th then to be stung with customs.... I really dig the unmasked sculpt the proto for the actual figure looked better for the body size.

Really impressed with this figure. I think more bulk would have been welcome, but this is still a very amazing and intimidating Vader. The Anakin head sculpt is beautiful.
Now to think of some good poses for him.

Looks amazing. Greatest character in sci-fi history.

I'll still hold out for a ROTJ 1/6 or die-cast if they ever bother.

Yeah, I find the lack of bulk disturbing. Other than that, looks great so far, but I need to see some in hand pics before taking the plunge.

So is there a plastic chain around the collar where the cape attaches?... shouldn't that be metal?

I agree about the proportions being "off". He looks short, even on that stand. I feel like the mid-section should be taller / longer.
Which is ironic, considering how tall the 1/6 scale versions are. :slap

He def looks too skinny, but I don?t think we can judge height yet without seeing him next to another 1/4 figure. Would like to see him next to TDKR Batman and Iron Man.

No, Vader used this as collar chain:

I can see the lack of bulk and big shins in the pics posted in the thread. I would really want to be 100% convinced to buy this, but I'm not. I have the money, but not the will.

Yeah I'm surprised they didn't make any effort to bulk him up some more from the original ROTS version, but hopefully it'll be possible to pad him up ourselves. And the dome also appears a bit too low now, but that should be easy enough to fix as well.
