That MH Studio Tifa looks great. I wonder what the price will be.

I almost want to get a couple of those Play Arts figures but the price seems so steep for an all plastic figure that isn't even 1/6.

Pretty much all of these 1/4 Tifa statues are between 450 and 550 US dollars (shipping not included)
MH Studio released other 1/4 statues before, like from One Piece and the price was 530 USD.
They have to compete with each other so they will all choose the same price range

470 - 500 USD (shipping not included)

Tifa looks beautiful, I couldn't justify the price or space for a game character though

I'm pretty sure that none of the unlicensed 1/6 figures will look exactly like the remake characters.
These headsculpt + costume companies dont have head sculptors like Hot Toys or whatever
and production would be way too expensive. A 70-120 USD costume + headsculpt set is way too cheap for a super detailed awesome headsculpt.

Licensed companies would be able to do it but Square Enix only makes their own stuff.
Even the most expensive unlicensed 1/4 statues dont look exactly like in the games.
So you can choose between unlicensed Barbie style 1/6 sets, super expensive unlicensed 1/4 statues
and official upcoming Square Enix Play Arts Kai figures.
Unlicensed 1/6 figure with real clothing + Play Arts Kai headsculpt quality is super unrealistic. (for a female character)

There are dozens of unlicensed figures and sculpts with good, accurate likenesses.

Show me a 100% accurate high quality unlicensed 1/6 headsculpt of characters like Jill Valentine, Nier Automata 2B, Lara Croft
or whatever female video game character. They all look "ok" at best, most of the time they look like barbie dolls with 60-70% likeness. Exactly like the 1/6 Tifa sets.
Male characters are a different topic.

I dont think that any of the unlicensed 1/6 Tifa headsculpts will look as good as the one from the Play Arts Kai Tifa preview. And thats not 1/6.
Also the hype for the FF7 Remake is dying down, i doubt that we will see many more new announcements before the next videogame is out.

Solid Snake / Big Boss or Arthur Morgan are male characters, totally different topic.
Show me unlicensed female video characters in 1/12, 1/6 scale where the headsculpt doesnt look like a better looking barbie
or where the hair looks like a glued wig.
You can find some but the ratio for quality / likeness is pretty bad in the pool of female characters.
Even companies like Hot Toys have trouble with female characters all the time, just look at the different Wonder Woman releases.
Thats why you can kind of calculate that chances for a super accurate HQ unlicensed 1/6 Tifa are pretty low.

Hmmm to be honest, i dont like it that much. Her prototype expression looked friendlier or a bit sassy and the hair piece here (the color detail) looks a bit cheap.
Its not terrible or 0/10 but does it look like a 500 USD product? I think theres room for improvements.

Had a good look again and I do agree that the overall paint job is definitely a few notches down from the 3D render. The color is monotonous and appears darker. The eye make-up is not appealing. The bangs of her hair sculpt is covering a bit too much of her right brow. I also wish they would just replicate the head of the 3D model without making changes to it.

After watching SpartanUK's video and reading the comments, i have to say i'm really not a fan of the paint job.
Promo expression looks like a mix of friendly and sassy, real paintjob expression doesnt look friendly or sassy at all.
Skin color is different (way too much red in the face), make up is different (eyeliner, lipstick, rouge, eye shadow),
eye details and color is different (red color even in her eye's sclera), hair piece has no details,
all the black clothing parts are glossy now, color of all clothing parts changed.
The promo shots have very fine and clear details but the paint job looks super smudged.

Anyone want a super tanned Cloud figure?

That Mayflies statue from the first page does a much better job resembling the game. I just don't know if any of these are even licensed, doesn't seem like it.

That Super Duck Cloud is way too tanned, the hair has a weird color too. It looks decent otherwise, but I think I'm still holding out for the Ace Toyz version.
