I'm confused by this thread. A Song has singing in it, or it's a piece written to include a melody.

There are alot of people who like this, but it makes me cringe. Maybe if someone else sang it, I would like it better. I don't know.

I can't see any of these at work, but if that's the song from the end of The Two Towers, it's amazing. If it's the one from the end of Return of the King, I would definitely like it more if it wasn't Annie Lennox singing. (Also, loved Enya's from Fellowship.)

I can't think of any songs made for movies that I really like. If I had to pick part of a score (the best music written in the late 20th century), I thought it would be hard to narrow down, but surprisingly, it came to me with no trouble at all. The music from the Taarna sequence of Heavy Metal, beginning with her first appearance, through the flight, up to her raising the sword. Nothing can touch it in all of science fiction/fantasy cinema.

The music from Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings was pretty great too.

There are alot of people who like this, but it makes me cringe. Maybe if someone else sang it, I would like it better. I don't know.

The lady that sings this song is from Iceland, its a great song and probally one of the best out of the three LOTR films but, her style seems like a rip off Bjork(from Iceland also) who i never cared for as well, same thing with Sigur Ros, they have some decent songs but way too artsy for me.

I met quite a few girls here in the city that are into that art gallery browsing while listening to their Sigur Ros/Bjork on their Ipod's and sipping on a latte from a local "independant cafe" has to be indie lol!!...oh and they are usually vegan to boot.

Go easy on me this time.

I've never heard anything else from the artist, but it nailed the feel of Gollum's whole psyche and path.

I would have enjoyed it more if Summoning was used for parts of the LOTR soundtracks, since all their music is based off it.

Yeah I understand, I guess it's a love it or hate it song.
I love it because her voice for me conveys the sadness in Gollum's story.

Really all the music from LotR. I also love the Braveheart theme and Now We Are Free from Gladiator. Too many great songs to choose from.
