The whole list is fairly ridiculous. Time tested classics placed higher than movies that haven't been out more than a few years?

Anchorman in the top 100's? Placing lower than greats like Rushmore?! School of Rock is in the top 200's...

It's all subjective, but I still hate lists like this. And considering the size and breadth of choices here, hey coulda thrown in a kitchen sink while they were at it.

Just found CASABLANCA... at #18.

OMG.... LAWRENCE OF ARABIA is #57!!!

SEVEN SAMURAI #50?!?!??!

This list is a total joke. Putting TDK at #15 solidifies it as either that or a stunt to generate debate. It's like a bunch of tweeners made it up. :lol

I only checked out 1-100... Lawrence of Arabia at #57? Behind Casino Royale and Evil Dead 2?!

The Dark Knight at #15?

And I love Raiders of the Lost Ark as much as the next guy, but #2? Come one now.

Talk to me, brother.

They should call this list "The Top 500 Films Of All Time List From Fanboys Pretending To Be Cinema Buffs" :lol

I'd put Dark Knight in my top 10. It was just really ^^^^ing good......sorry people enjoyed it so much.

I was surprised how close together all LOTR films were. I was glad that Fellowship was ranked the highest.

The Dark Knight was a fine movie, but better than The Third Man and Casablanca? Not even close.

and they hit their target.

You really need to see more movies if you truly think TDK is one of the 10 best films ever made.

No I dont. I've seen a ton of films. I would put it in my top 10. Why? Because, I enjoy everything about it. Just as I put Alien/Aliens as number 1. They will always be to me, the greatest movies of all time.

yeah IJ when did you become a movie expert? now I'm no expert but I thought movies were suppose to etertain people, not bore people to death with dumb indie and art films.

I think we may be talking about two different things, then: Your list of Favorite Movies Vs what you truly believe are the Best Films ever made. Those 2 are not necessarily mutually exclusive. For example, lots of people (myself included) enjoy films they well know are not that great and some are even bad (like guilty pleasures). Also, while RAIDERS and EMPIRE STRIKES BACK are both in my Top 10 Favorite movies, I doubt either would crack the Top 10 in any list I made of the Best Films Ever Made.

I don't claim to be an "expert" at all. Afterall, it's subjective. However, I can state with full objectivity that anyone who thinks TDK is a better film than SEVEN SAMURAI, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA and many others behind it is either flat crazy or trying to start ^^^^.

I will say I was happy to see Blade Runner in the top 20. I wasn't even a fan of it in my younger years, but I've really come to appreciate it, especially the final cut. Brilliant movie.
