looks really good actually. they even got the swirly details on the face part of his helmet. The chainmail skirt is pretty out of scale though, and the codpiece isn't long enough. But, considering it's currently the only version of this character we have and may get, it's not bad and probably accurate enough for most ppl... until we see the price that is.

God damnit I want to like and get this but it being 24" tall seems insane to me. How is this 3 inches bigger than the Hulkbuster? I feel like he should have been 18" max to scale better with other LOTR figures.

Just seems way too out of scale to even consider getting this. Been wanting a Sauron figure for a while too. Big bummer.

Yeah 18" seems better, no way was he actually that big in the movie?

Sauron is portrayed as being 9 feet 2 inches (2.79 m) tall in the Lord of the Rings films. so he should be 46.5cm/18.3 inches tall. So this is way oversized. 59cm means 3.54m in reality which is a Trolls height...

I don't think they failed on mathematics. They probably used other sources
They are the ones who did all the stuff for the movies. They should be the ones to know best about proper sizes yet they still f*ck it up. If by other sources you mean they asked the first village idiot who came their way and asked him/her what does he/she think the size of Sauron is and that person said a random number what came to his/her mind in that instant then yeah thats a possibility. 😂

Figure looks fantastic.
Not sure about the scale?
He seems pretty damn tall...

Yeah 59cm seems way off, but it's counting his spiky crown so maybe 🤷‍♂️
Top of head would put him at abt 52.5cm so abt 20"

Curious do the arms go through the cape? Did it hang off the front?

He looks feckin amazing! I’ve wanted a 1/6 Sauron and something to represent TLOTR in my collection other then the typical Legolas for an absolute age.

His scale does seem a wee bit too big, but I agree in terms of ever getting this guy again so I’m all in.

He certain puts Darkseid to shame in terms of scale and shear shelf presence thats for sure!

Nice.

I think the proportions appear off on a number of areas but most importantly, the helm size. It is too small. The arms also look really thin, especially wearing armor. The chainmail at the front is way over-scaled, as well.

I do like the height, which is comparable with the SS/Weta statue that I've had for a almost two decades and still really appreciate. Sauron is indeed twice the size of regular elf or man in the film(s). Seems correct to me, especially with Weta being greatly involved in the films.

I don't think I need it, though. I've always felt that the above statue was enough and at 1/6th scale, perfect to display with the figures, if I wanted to.

The new Sauron figure obviously allows different poses, which is a key part of our hobby but I would end up posing it just like the statue, anyway.

Nope, he is not the correct size, not even is that the case with the weta statue in 1/6.
See my post above about his size.

I made some screenshots from the movie. You can clearly see that he is not twice the size of elfs/humans.
I even checked the tallest man who ever lived who was 2.72m tall meaning he was 7 cm smaller than Sauron and will upload that pic of him for reference as well standing next to ordinary men.

18 inches not including the spikes, once you include those massive spikes I'd say 21 - 22 inches is about right. This figure is a little bit oversized.

I also find it a bit...strnage how you cna say as a fact WETA IS WRONG. When they heped to make the movie and costumes of everything. All other facts about his size are just some screenshots and a sentence in the books. Weta also released several 1/6 and 1/4 Sauron Statues all calcualted on that height.
And yeah, lets not forget about the spikes on the helmet.

Personally I would have liked the figure to be smaller as it would blend better with the other chars, but it is not of so much importance to me.

This was the statue I owned for a few years before selling it off. Great one!

I'm also on the fence here, this sauron looks a bit cheap indeed. I want a diecast one lol.
