Well I know I'm not at the level of the other amazing artists on here, but modding and repainting stuff is something I still really enjoy doing (or trying to do), so I figured I'd finally start up a thread so I could collect it all in one place and maybe show some different works in progress and get helpful feedback. :)

And I apologize up front for some of the bad photography and the crappy shelves (I just recently bought my first proper Detolf, so things will hopefully start looking a bit better soon).

Anyway, guess I'll start with the Vader head I sculpted, which I eventually modified into both ANH and ESB versions. Of course this was before the HT version came along, or otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Lol :lol

Here's a repaint of the old Sideshow Henry Sr figure. He's also been put on a taller body to try to make the proportions look a bit better.

I know people like to rag on the old Sideshow sculpts with their complete lack of detail and skin texture, but I still love them and think they often capture the actors and their personalities a lot better than some of the more "realistic" stuff that's come since. At least once you get past the awful Sideshow paintjobs, that is. :D

And here's a before and after shot:

Here's my Sideshow R2 with the custom life-form scanner I built for it. It's always been my favorite look for him, but the existing one was just way too short and inaccurate for my taste.

I also added a bit more weathering to the dome and body and made it so those blue lights by the eye are more pinpricky like they should be.

My Matt Smith repaint. I was determined to finally get rid of that weird greenish cast the head had for some reason, but he still ended up a bit more tan than I'd like. Those really pale, translucent skin tones are something I'm still not really good at yet unfortunately.

Here's my old Medicom Rocketeer after putting it on a bigger body, repainting the helmet and gloves, weathering the jacket, shining up the jetpack, and giving him some new boots. I know it doesn't compare to the great custom figures that are out there now, but hopefully it at least looks a bit more respectable now.
