Here's a question... Bleach started in 2004 in Japan, yet it is up to season 15 according to Wikipedia. It appears, in most years, to have a season during the winter spanning into the next year, a season in spring and/or summer, and then repeat, a season that starts in the fall/winter. And some seasons are very long while others can be as short as 6 episodes! Just how do they determine a "season" over there??? :panic:

What? You mean the anime doesn't follow the manga? I'm just 6 episodes away from the finish and I love it! Can't wait to finish it tonight.

lol Only about the first 24 episodes or so follow the manga. The rest a made up since the manga wasnt out yet for those episodes.

There is no real season. Most anime (atleast teh popular ones) are continous and thats why they tend to need filler episodes. They do take episodes off from time to time like Golden Week.

I thought a season is generally 26 episodes in Japan? Some animes are 52 episodes per season. I cant remember where I read this. Also, most popular animes do fillers in order for the manga to advance since the mangas are the bases for most anime scripts. In many instances, the anime producers just deviate from the manga so they don't have to do filler and start their own, separate story line.

I've noticed this too

some I watch are 6,12, 24, 36, 50+ episodes. maybe it goes by individual stories

I think you may be right! Looking at the original air dates in Japan, one season ends and another one starts the next week... so it is nothing like "seasons" for American TV.

15 seasons?! :horror Bleach and Naruto are just too long. I prefer anime that is just one to two seasons long.

Yeah I didnt get to pick up the Soul Eater season...it was $50...I seen it on Amazon for like $30, so I think when I get some extra ash I'll order it from there.

... currently Amazon is slightly more; even the third-party sellers.

And if you hit $50, you can pick free economy shipping; so maybe get parts 1 &2 and then parts 3 & 4.

By the way, I just finished the series tonight! It lived up to my early expectations and I thought it was quite good. Definitely will join my list of favorite anime series.

I don't mind either way, short or long, as long as the story is compelling and the animation good. By the way, that 15 seasons is actually over 7 years.

Ok cool, yeah my "$30" amazon was me just throwing ballpark price out there...as long as its cheaper than $50. Yeah I gotta let my wallet recover a bit before I do any major spending again.

:lecture :lecture What he said. I watch anime like I watch live action shows/movies. As long as it keeps me interested with the story and action I'm not worried about the running time or amount of episodes.
