I know what you mean. I'm already failing this year. I just placed another order for the premium Aragorn this morning. I'm tempted to order the standard The Batman so I can display the rooted headsculpt on my premium.
Yeah that would be pretty sick!
I have the HT Batfleck 2.0 and the Batman armoury both on PO so I think I have enough Batman's for now lol and will have to settle without Pattinson for time being 😅

Iam thinking to sell most of my figures and just go with premium figures... So much more enjoyable somehow. But on the other hand...ugh

If you mean ditching ASMUS/Sideshow figs re LOTR - well, I won't be. I've got an appreciation for what both companies were able to achieve at their price point....

And at the moment not seeing Aragorn as all that "premium" when the outer coat IMO is so blatantly fake cloth "leather". That choice really surprises me. There's all kinds of grades of pleather (if they didn't want to use leather); ASMUS had talked about choosing a pleather that wouldn't peel, way back.

I'm already wondering if the outer coat could be reconstructed in thin glove leather. But I shouldn't have to do that with a "premium" figure. Also the big binding seams.

I don't have any of the Asmus LOTR figures, but I agree if I did I would be keeping them in my collection. I don't think InArt will ever tackle nearly as much as Asmus has. Is the leather possibly a suede? That is a type of leather.

Whatever pleather Asmus used on their Borormir figure was perfect but I'd much prefer real leather at this price point!

Still wonder why Aragorn costs less than Gandalf

You would think his face and three day beard is harder to do than gandalf and clothes are also harder to create than the robes
Gandalf probably has over the twice the amount of rooted hair work that needs to be done on every single sculpt. Both the hair and beard also has different texture. Probably why they priced him slightly higher.

LOL I didn't even think about it - I ASSUMED it would be leather, so this choice is a surprise (not a good surprise, but a surprise).....

To me it doesn't look like it; it looks like the fabric used on ASMUS' outer coat for Thorin (which was also dyed leather, in the films). But I didn't have a problem with that, because of the price point and IMO an excellent quality of fake fur - as well as, Thorin being half the cost of this Aragorn.

But, who can say - InArt may change things up for production.

But for main characters, I can't see any LOTR fan passing on InArt's offerings.

Depends, I suppose. I didn't see the need for another Gandalf, and I am good with Gimli. If ASMUS put out a new Legolas sculpt I'd be good. I don't need another Thorin, but will pick up Thorin - and Legolas, probably, if made.
For myself it's not worth it. For others, cheers for picking up these up, if and when they get made.

The other thing - I figure sooner or later - possibly later - someone is gonna come along and try to top InArt$$$$

omg I nearly bought Asmus Boromir this weekend! I like the outfit but really dislike the head...
Glad I resisted even if it is 2-4 years down the line.

Damn, I preordered Aragorn but now I lost interest in collecting 1/6 figures. Should I just cancel my preorder and take the lost in deposit?
