Why is everyone against getting this from Toyswonderland?
Genuine question: If you’ve seen ppl on the board mention being against TW enough to ask this question, how have you missed the typical follow up of explanations why ppl are against them?

We’ve talked about it across the board quite a bit in multiple threads, with a thread even dedicated to TW, so the search function should be able to pull up the answers you’re looking for 👍🏼

Simplest thing to say is, shady business practices considering they aren’t an authorized retailer but instead a reseller. You may or may not received your item, but instead a bunch of excuses why there’s a delay. If you ask to cancel, instead they’ll tell you to hold on or offer you their rewards points in lieu of an actual refund unless you threaten to open a PayPal case.

If each body will be uniquely constructed to mimic the proportions of the character then this one does everything it needs to.
A fully dressed character doesn’t require any muscular definition or skin texture, it’s slim enough to wear 4 layers of clothing without becoming overly padded, the shoulder construction allows for a great range of articulation, and it has the magnetic peg system as well as a very sturdy ankle construction.

The fact that InArt won’t simply add ankle extenders to make a character taller and will surely avoid single joint knee or elbows on clothed characters is already all that’s required to be considered ‘a huge leap’ compared to what we’re used to, sadly.
Thank you for this. Some people in Spain are even mocking Inart for this (I mean, they’re more Hot Toys fans than collectors at this point). I simply don’t get why people are like ”Oh jeez that undressed base looks nothing like Heath Ledger, not even a human”. I couldn’t care less about how it looks naked. I mean… yeah when I was 8 maybe I hoped Barbies were more real but… c’mon. We’re missing the point.

BTW, Hot Toys not only gives you ankle extenders for taller characters, also for short ones just because they have spare. Yeah Finn, I’m talking about you. Get out of those stilts now!

I mean, they *are* dolls 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

The definition of a "doll" is a small human (or baby) toy. I think for $1k most people won't let their kids play with them, and it sits firmly in the "collectible" category. But, hey, call it what you like. You carry on paingting "dolls" :lol

Posable pieces of art… Posable Art Figures… err… Artcions Figures. I digress. But they’re not dolls! Stop hurting my d…figures feelings.

Looks nice but not as good as the official InArt work to me.
I see a variance between rooted and sculpted red lip color.
If you’re saying that in reference to the IG post, the rooted one is repainted and rooted by the poster going by the caption. It says “painted and hair by me,” so that rooted headsculpt is not InArt’s work.

No, I know, but the only real difference I saw at first glance was the red lip color.

All that work, just to have essentially the same thing. Granted, he saved good money hairing it himself.... $180 each anyway.

Ahh I see how you meant it now- d’oh :slap
I guess depending on how fast he was able to hair and repaint then, it was worth it. Even if I had the capabilities to hair as well as that, I’d rather pay the money than spend the time doing it myself though 😆

Exactly. I mean, what if you screwed up?

Takes balls though... rich balls.
Yup! the guy must have some rich balls since he apparently bought 2 premium/sculpted packs.

Still bothers me that the "premium" version is the sculpted 2-pack where as the "deluxe" is the rooted 2-pack. Seems it should be the other way around. Though, to InArt's credit, later releases that have a sculpted version and rooted version have designated the rooted version as "premium." It's just confusing when talking about this release.

It should have been Joker SE, Joker Plus and Joker Pro Max.

Well the paint rub on the brow matches the forehead creases now.
That’s definitely the greatest error from InArt which should have been rectified. Maybe later batches will realign whatever system is applying the paint to actually match the creases.

This guy looks to have painted and haired dozens of Jokers so this was no biggy for him.
Some sculpts he’s received are great. Others less so…

^That guy does a lot of great work on some bad sculpts. Really impressed with his Sweeney Todd. That figure holds up well.
