I would‘ve bet good money this would never happen. So happy to finally be getting a proper MKIII. I’ve been IMless for a while now so this will be nice to have on the shelf.

And yes, that Tony sculpt is amazing.

Diecast MK 1 will look ridiculously small next to this guy. There's goes my 1/6 hall of armor display :gah: lol

And here I was about to finally list some my HT Iron Man figures on the forums for sale... And my original MKIII BD Ex was one of them.. :lol Was surprised to see how much some of them were selling for on Ebay.

I'm long outta the HT Iron Man game and focusing mainly on Star Wars. But even if I wasn't, I'm still am not sure I'd pick this up. I'm not crazy about ever having a full RDJ head on an Iron Man figure, and I would never display it that way. I much prefer a head in Mask with the option of the mask up or down. Surprised they went that route instead of like the original that had the masked RDJ head. They even exactly copied the original Ex with the crumpled mask.

This looks great and nice to see them fixing their tiny first diecast attempt. Nice to see this new figure is taller and in scale with the newer larger Iron Man figures.

But, where are the collectors that were defending the shorty DC MKIII saying the original armor was supposed to be much shorter??? :monkey3

OSK prices their figures roughly $30 more than Sideshow so I guess this will be roughly $495. I remember when the first diecast Iron Man came out for $310 and people went nuts then. Crazy how now the most standard and basic of figures is within the $300-$350 range. Diecast Iron Man figures are now in the $450-$500 pricing.

Will still get this but will dump my remaining $100 reward points into it to lower the cost. Happy with the Mark 3, Mark 7 and the BD Mark 85 to close out RDJs Iron Man in my collection.

This is Hot Toys first Mark III with real ab crunch, right? I like they specifically mention the colors as being “enhanced”, meaning “we know we screwed up last time :p

Man I was content to leave my Mark 4 as the closest to this iteration as possible... Maybe it's time to move that and genuinely go in on the armor that started it all.

What an annoying but necessary upgrade. Guess I will have to eventually throw my old one in the bin.

I'll be damned if this doesn't outline Hot Toys long term plan of planned obsolescence of the still yet to be released diecast Mark 1. Guess we can expect to get the good version of that fig in about 8 more years.

About damn time. Now they gotta make 1/6th ROTJ Vader like they did in 1/4th scale.

My question is, why did they wait until after SDCC to reveal their best stuff?
That's what I was thinking, I went to SDCC and hit the Sideshow booth once. With practically nothing new there I didn't stop by to look as much. I'm surprised they didn't do any real mind blowing reveals there like essentially everything they did in the last 24 hours.

$524 at OSK :monkey2
Whoa! Considering shipping is already baked in, I can see Sideshow charging around that much. I’ll most likely pick it up shortly after it’s release but damn, I recall I paid $500 shipped for the 1:4 Scale Mark III last year. Is diecast metal really that expensive?
