Storm Collectibles - Mortal Kombat

I would like a 1/6 Sub-Zero, and I have a lot of nostalgia for the classic ninja outfit, but I’m already dreading the asking price knowing he’s as bare-bones as I expected. No alternate unmasked head sculpt, no blood effects, and not even a second axe (he uses two in the game!), along with other ice weapons and effects. Even the McFarlane figure included two.

I was hoping we’d get an ice ball effect too. It’s overlooked so often.

I still hate those ugly joints too. Anyone know if you can swap in a pair of seamless on these guys? Hopefully so.

I’m both elated these EXIST, but disappointed they’re not exactly bursting with value or bang for the buck.

not sure if anyone else has thought about this. but how hard would it have been to design an interchangeable outfit on these as its softgoods.. one thats classic smooth and then the checkered one here, still wouldnt justify the $250
its not like they can repaint these......

Storm has always charged high prices though, and it was a big deterrent for me getting any of their 1/12th scale figures. They sell 7” figures for upwards of $90, and those are just solid plastic. The moment I heard they’d do 1/6 with cloth goods, I knew they’d charge an arm and a leg.

mezco charging $155 for 1/12 figures is the epitone of bullshirt (but they add alot of accessories)

I've started wondering if a lot of collectibles are worth the rising costs. Saw a NECA cartoon TMNT 4 pack at Target earlier for $150. These prices are getting absurd, those figures should be $15-20 each.

Our local retailers just opened preorders for the 1/6 Sub-zero and he's $60 more than Scorpion?! I'm confused. How is this priced more than a Hot Toy?

But that’s the crazing thing; this is Storm Collectibles. They have no problems doing gore effects in recent releases.

Those effects look so damn good. They really didn't bother trying with these 1/6 figure counterparts.

Would have softened the blow on the price with two sculpts, have both mask styles and a sculpt with white eyes. I find myself liking the look of Scorpion better just for those details. I'd hate to spend this amount on Subs and have to bash a bunch of extra details

I'd love to just have that pair but I don't see $500 worth for me. Maybe near release I'll feel differently.

I will definitely need to see reviews of them in-hand.

I'd be more inclined if they were the intricate designs from the new movie, these more simplistic costumes just don't feel worth $250.

One thing that would make me really want this, even with this price and few accessories, is a realistic design based on the original actors they used to make the game sprites.

Yeah these are MK11 versions with the vintage suits. I'd just like the MK1 or MK2 costumes.

Looks like Bandai is the only option for bloody weapons (and getting Sub his second axe).

Just placed preorder through OSK. Cant wait!!

I wonder if the dragon comes with Liu or is being released separately? If it comes with, I'm almost $cared to know the price...

I could be wrong, but I think there’s no way that’s included. That’s a fully articulated giant dragon. It’s over a foot of plastic. It warrants its own price.

… and I kind of want the dragon more than the Liu Kang figure, honestly.

I don't think they've done a 'Regular' and 'Deluxe' release before. I expect they'll be packed together. The dragon looks awesome; I kind of hope there's a way to have him horizontal too but not sure unless there's replacement parts.

Sucks Storm won’t redo some of the older figures. Still pissed I missed the Original Reptile. The asking prices on ebay can blow me
