Definitely watch rogue one when you can, it has the OT vibe. You might like Solo as well, but generally it isn't regarded that highly.

Definitely follow with Rogue One, then I'd be very curious to hear how the Sequel Trilogy plays for you without decades of preconceived expectations about what should happen to the main heroes after ROTJ.
Yeah the OT was a fun ride!
Will take note of RO! Though, I think I'm interested in reading Vader comics and legends.

Have a buddy at work thats about to do the movies, then maybe to Clone Wars if he likes the flicks.
How deep into the lore looking to go? A lot of the legends books are amazing, sucks Disney took them out of timeline. If you game, fully suggest Knights Of The Old Republic 1 & 2, such fun games, despite being dated.

Though for my preferences, iI think I'd favor Mando S1
, as I prefer its 'grittier' feel. Yeah haha I'm looking to reading some of the legends if I get a chance.

And what a larger world it is! The SW universe seems so believably immense, I mean, the world building is fantastical. It's probably one of my favorite aspects of it.

So, before going on to Mandalorian S2, I went ahead and watched RO since if I'm not mistaken takes place right before ANH. Of course, it's an entertaining, enjoyable movie, though not to the magnitude of the OT, in my opinion. I liked Ms. Jones as JE, I thought she was a great lead. The highlight for me would be third act, I felt it was more in line with how the OT played out and again the stakes were high. I liked how it tied the Death Star plans from ANH.
Some more thoughts:
- I kinda wish Jyn and Cassian flew away on a ship to escape Scarif
- Tarkin is cemented as a GOAT villain
- DV and Krennic reminded me of Bane and Dagget from TDKR, lol
- Oh dang that final scene with Princess Leia!
- Darth Vader's castle is on Mustafar!!
- I need a bacta tank
- Gosh darn, the battle sequences are spectacular

I dont know if there is much interest for this info here, but if you want a blu ray transfer of the original trilogy, they are now done. These are unofficial and unlicensed so the people who made it had to get the films and scan them digitally themselves from original prints of the film.
They dont have access to the masters so there are artifacts and color changes you may notice (color film fades to pink over time and faster depending on film stock)
I dont think a direct link would be appreciated by forum moderators but if you search on google project 4k77, 4k80, or 4k83 you will find them.
Before this, there were digital transfers from the old laserdiscs (harry's despecialized edition) and there is also a grindhouse version which i think comes from a 16mm print of the original films and these have been available for a long time.
The last official release of the OT films was on VHS maybe 1994 or 1995? And those were actually slightly different from the original theatrical releases, for example "A New Hope" was added to the scroll text in maybe 1979.
It is probably difficult for some newer fans to understand why the first films were so loved, but the special editions of the films, actually make the special effects look pretty fake after they were remastered, and some of the added scenes are plan 9 from outer space kinds of ridiculous.

You can get Star Wars and RotJ in 4k from this project, so ESB should be availble soon. Mine came in blue Blue Ray cases, but it was easy to source black 4k cases.

4k80 just finished on 2/18 i just watched it yesterday morning. this is a beta version so there could be some tweaks buts its othetwise finished. I've been waiting a couple of years for it.
