This is exactly my concern. I really don't want to have a high maintenance figure and have no experience with rooted hair. My understanding is that it would arrive prepared and I expect it would hold for a long time depending on the amount of handling or posing, but I have no way to qualify that.

Maybe it's from underneath the head sculpt, like through the base / neck area? That would eliminate unsightly removable skull parts. Has everyone been scared away from this thread? Anyone else still trying to decide what to go in on? I am. I'm leaning towards the standard sculpted versions...

That's correct - so it unfortunately adds to the shipping cost. The sooner you catch them the better. I think they've been able to accommodate on the few short notices I've given them in the past, before I made it a standing order, but I wouldn't hesitate if it's something you want to do.

You should be fine if you've set up mail forwarding with USPS. I've moved around plenty and never lost a package due to forwardong, sometimes delayed but always received.
