Jesus Christ that is bad. Wow, I didn’t think it would be that bad. I’ve always heard there’s massive differences between proto and production but I don’t even know what to say. I wanted this figure so bad but that’s not Kurt Russell. Can I just tell them I don’t want it? Didn’t get any shipping notice yet.

I find myself making the same expression as this figure when looking at this production figure.

Need more pics before I totally freak out. This one is especially pricey so if I am not happy then, I will send it back.

Been in the game long enough now to know not to go with very grainy first photos but this is certainly not looking good is it?!
Which is odd as Ask Williams and Snowspeeder Luke are great I think.

The other guy that has it in hand said it looks bad.

So two completely different views, but both showing photos that look equally bad.

Unless somebody can make him look halfway decent it'll be worth baling and losing the $24 NRD. (Last time I cancelled an order Sideshow actually refunded me without me even asking).

I just emailed them and told them I wanted to cancel AND I wanted my NRD back because these picts show the product nothing like proto and was a bait and switch. I usually give Sideshow the benefit of the doubt but this is indefensible.

You look at that prototype pic and ya just wanna cry. QMX provided a whole new head for their Captain Mal when folks freaked out with the quality. I wonder if we could make that happen with Jack here? I think the sculpt is still there but it needs to be totally repainted.

- Sideshow
- Rectifying their mistakes

Pick one.

I'm really hoping it's just the horrible pictures. Even the hands in the pics look incredibly soft with minimal sculpting and paint. The tailoring on the outfit looks great, but (and not trying to defend Sideshow in any way here) I have a hard time believing they would release a figure with hair, headsculpt, and hands that look that bad. Their recent track record has been pretty decent (Ash, Thor, Punisher, etc.)....

It's consistent with their latest 1/6 releases.
Looks exactly how I thought it would - decent everything, horrible paint job on the head.

Must have escaped from 'The Hell of Soft Sculpts and Poor Paint Jobs.'
(Chinese factories have a lot of Hells)

Seriously who are doing SS paint apps, 3yr olds? Somewhere there might be a decent sculpt there. Be interesting to see if a good painter gets hold of one of these.

I wouldn't say it's consistent at all. If this was released right after Beetlejuice or Nathan Drake, I'd agree. But their recent figs, not real people mind you, have had decent head paint app (Wolverine unmasked, Punisher although a little too tan, Thor, Ash, Freddy Krueger)

Sure Thor is decent. The fact that he resembles Arnold, doesn't have anything to do with the paintjob which isn't poor like these photos show.
Same goes for Daredevil.
Not discussing the artistic interpretation of the character here (or the price!), just talking about the sculpt and paintwork...

And I will still maintain the Hot Toys Daredevil, which has excellent paint work, is a terrible representation of the Man Without Fear.... my singular opinion...
