Do it but be warned ... the mod is hell ... HELL. :lol

I'm very happy that I finally took the plunge to do the MoS mod. I had already modded my Stealth Cap and replaced the stock body with the CW body but honestly, compared to the MoS, it's just not as good (although a tad bit easier). I can take some comparison pics if anyone's interested. I just took a quick shot of MoS Cap yesterday coz it was already getting dark, gotta take some more pics today coz he's so nice now. :love

I think that looks fantastic personally, great job :clap

Its a shame that even the MOS body is so damn expensive! :gah:

If you wanna do the mod, I recommend buying the complete MoS and then selling the other parts. Like that it becomes much cheaper. The body will still be around 60-90 though.

That's the body, it just looks thinner coz it's longer than the stock and CW bodies but it's actually much broader. If you get padding into this thing, I'll give you a medal coz he's literally sewn into the suit as that was the only way to close it. :lol Forget the zipper, that thing is useless here and will break anyway. :lol

Looks good to me. It's just that all these suits seem to be made in different sizes. I've seen a lot of these mods with shorter sleeve and some that are just right. The belt and shoulder straps are a paint to mod as well. Here's mine before I did a few more corrects to it. DSC01311-01.jpg

Nice Irok! And yeah, the all the suits seem to be different. The sleeves on mine are a bit short but honestly, I don't really care. I'm glad the belt and shoulder straps fit so I don't necessarily have to mod them. :) One can only be happy when this mod is over and was a success coz it's really such a fine line to failure and insanity ... :lol

So I'm really tempted to get the set. I'm not so concerned about bulky look, but to get cap in a dynamic pose, just unzip, cut out the fat suit, and zip up? I just want him to be able to raise his elbows at least to his neck. I'm not expecting the suit to allow him to do a handstand or anything.

I was given an extra double pack by my brother who never opened it.
I've had it for several months now and I'm tempted to mod it but I'm scared I'll screw it up. I might look into a mod that doesn't include the Superman body.

Excellent mod photographed by Irok. It inspired me to get both Steve and Cap SS out of the detolf and pose them.

Now this was my first Hot Toys acquisition because at the time it represented the best value. I never held a Hot Toys product in hand so thought I'd take the plunge. It has also been the most troublesome Hot Toys product that I have.

First off, the Steve head inner ring came apart and had to be glued together the neck. I thought what the hell is going on here. These are not a cheap figures so I expected better quality control. Next stop was watching youtube clips and studying how it can be modded. So I successfully got removed the fatsuit and you guys may be used to it but it wasn't easy. I was almost home and hosed when the zipper came off. Being the first mistake and trying in vain to put the zipper back I eventually broke the zipper.

Thoroughly dismayed I set out to buy zippers to try to get it to zip on without having to sew the top suit up. Long story short, I failed yet again. I don't know why I persisted but I bought a spare top suit from ebay and managed to break the zipper on that too. After that I gave up trying to fix it reasoning that I would never pose his back toward me.

One thing I did notice about removing the dark blue outfit though were the marks left on the forearms and the thighs of the figure. You can get away with that because it can't be seen except that blue is also left on the neck of the head sculpts. Bah!

I'll use Oxy 10 gradually having tried other pimple cream to remove the staining. I have bought many figures since then and have taken the utmost care. There's not a chance I'll mod a figure except this set since there is no turning back.

I'll definitely mod the shoulders of the current figure but wont get a mos body to replace the original. Looks tempting but I'd rather put the funds to other figures.

The Steve in the photo has an aftermarket head sculpt with the neck attached separately. I'll never understand Hot Toys need to limit articulation. I suppose it's budgetary reason as well as to prevent wear and tear. Doubt it's the latter as they make their products with materials that will diminish over time.

Getting rid of the padded suit does allow for a better range of movement.

Sorry to read you had troubles. Its a great set especially for the money. I still want it but can't afford it. As far as the zippers go, I've read of others breaking and people being able to fix them so don't lose hope.

I've learned this about toys, when you are doing something and it seems like a struggle, put it down and get a beer and come back. :)

You know what. I was just being too precious. I'm over it now and just need to learn to sew properly.

I put the second stealth strike top on a narrow shoulder figure and padded the chest and shoulders with tissue instead of super sculpey or whatever you guys use. I could use one of my Phicen figures but it would be a shame to waste that body and hide it under a uniform. Not to mention it may be marked blue from the fabric.

The problem with the 3rd party figure (and even the HT body to some extent) is that Captain America looks like he skipped leg day. I bought a 1/3rd party Bane and put it on the M34 Phicen body and that looks filled out. Very difficult to get the pants on to be honest, but it makes the figure looked nicely balanced.

Ah yeah, the Stealth Strike suit ... ^^ it's quite a stubborn one, isn't it? Don't feel bad for breaking the zipper, it happens to a lot of people. I managed to keep it intact when I put the suit on the CW body but it broke with the MoS body. I'd suggest changing the body to the MoS body coz then you'll love Strike Cap like no other but there's a reason for why I call it "the mod from hell". :lol

As previously mentioned. I'm not going to fork out anymore money on this figure.

I'll take your word for it and it shows in the pictures that it's the right body, but the mos body costs too much. My collection needs more colour and at the moment i think 3 caps is limit for me. Strangely enough Avengers cap with Steve Rogers head is my favorite 1/6 cap. As goofy as the costume looked in the movie it suits 1/6 scale. In a display I really like the strong contrast of white and reds which cw cap has toned down.

I bought this a couple years ago and finally have a way to display it. This is seriously the worst HT release I’ve ever seen. Within ten minutes of taking it out, I couldn’t switch his right hand to hold his shield because the peg was too low. Then the strap on the shield broke because it wasn’t even glued on right. It was just a total disaster and I wish I never purchased it in hindsight.

Yeah, I feel that it's not really a good release either, at least not right out of the box and it should be considering how much money HT expects us to pay for it. I hate the material of the white shirt and I'm honestly considering getting a third party shirt and replacing it. The Strike suit isn't well tailored and the body they used for Cap makes it even worse, not to mention the awful articulation. However, once you get around to doing the MoS mod, this guy is hands down the best looking HT Cap.

The body on SS Cap is lacking in the upper torso for sure, but with the pose I have him in, I think he looks pretty good in the detolf stock.

Steve Rogers, however, I'm selling. Along with Falcon, NF and GA Cap. I'm just going to go with SS Cap, BW and WS as my TWS display.

I agree. I do think he's an improvement body and sculpt wise from his predecessors, but obviously not as good as AoU and CW. I do think he's better than GA Cap as well.

He can look pretty cool on the shelf in the right pose. As mentioned, I decided to sell off the rest of my TWS collection and just go with this, BW and WS to represent the film.

I think CW Cap is the only one better than this version, despite the problems with the body it is still a pretty good figure. But I tend to prefer the civilian version.

I like my Stealth set just fine. Beginning to lose track but I think this was my second Cap. Yeah, Cap is overpadded and kudos to those modding him but it was Steve's outfit that bugged me. That got solved by sourcing the bridge fight outfit - if I ever get around to painting the running shoes I got him the right color. HT makes the weirdest decisions sometimes about costumes and accessories.

But I love this set. Even more with all the talk about the MCU changing.

Well i finally cracked. I knew this day would come. With no civil war version available anymore and the lackluster infinity war version on the horizon i finally caved. First order of the day, getting rid of the fat suit.

I think in terms of design, this is the most practical suit for captain america, the r,w,b, design isnt just a little old fashioned, its downright impractical. Hope i dont break the zipper.

Yeah it may be an unpopular opinion, but after rewatching all the Cap movies recently I think my two favorite looks are the WWII "Rescue" outfit from the first movie and this blue and silver one from TWS. The other more traditional outfits have just never really grabbed me as much.
