Bravo response. Nice knowing we bought a high end collectibles with assurance hahahaha

That was the response before Supes collapsed from the mid-section. Now that it's ultimately destroyed and museum putty and new rounded pad can't help, the owner should contact them again to see what they say.

So SS, pretty much, admits there is a design flaw due to the underestimation of gravity on the weight of the cape leading to lean/stress/possible breakage over time but there's nothing they could/will do about it...do I have that right?...Good to know:huh

Just to be clear (and fair), I didn't post the pic of the statue that broke at the waist, nor is it mine.

Peeps jumping to conclusions. No body knows what shape that sups was prior to shipping. These things take some abuse enroute. Not saying for a fact that’s the reason for the failure but never know.

Yeah, that’s what I was implying. It could have arrived defective, the owner’s dog might have knocked it over, or the owner’s French maid might’ve nudged it off an end table while bending over to dust another statue.

I hope the person who posted that on the other furum got the help he needs, cause a Supes that is still new (just a few years old and still available)over at SS shouldn't look like that.

So I just received my NEW statue, my first, from the second batch, started to lean.
I had it for quite a while and all was fine then all of a sudden it started to tilt back and to the right.
My collection is in my downstairs family room, it is completely climate controlled and I haven't had any issues with any other statue. I believe this is definitely a design flaw, and I also believe that it really wasn't corrected with the later batch.
I will say this, SSC took complete care of me and I am completely satisfied at this point.
Now the new NEW Supes is sitting in place without the sculpted cape as I wait for a cloth cape to arrive.
I LOVE the sculpted cape, but I also really love this statue so I have decided to try again with a cloth cape.

Anyways, just thought I would share.

I just don’t get why some of these have problems and some don’t. I bought mine on the secondary market two years ago. It’s displayed in a room with no climate control, and I have no lean.

Walls, if I were you, I’d keep using the sculpted cape, and keep demanding a new statue if they continue to fail. You’re bound to get a good one eventually.

Well to be fair SS replaced this one even though I've had it for 6 months, they said it was a one time courtesy so I'm not sure that I could get another one after 30 days.
Also mine was perfectly fine with zero lean and then it literally fell back over a 1/2" in less then 24 hours. So I'm really not comfortable using the sculpted cape anymore.

Out of curiosity, have you use a level on your shelf?

I thought they had reeginereed it. Maybe a bigger peg for the foot. Man oh man.

My shelf is perfectly level, I checked to make sure. Also the lean isn't near the peg by the foot, seems to me that mine started higher up so I'm not sure a bigger peg would help. Now a larger rod from the peg all the way up would.

Almost wish this statue didn't look so damn good, I would have just gotten a refund and been done. Lol

Someone in my area is making custom base to help support the cape. Base is same exact look of the original base.

After seeing several pictures of leaning superman statues I sold mine off, glad I did now... From a few pictures I did see it did look like the leaning was starting below the knee area, like the material they used was to soft. It will be interesting to see how many start to lean over the next few years....

Has anyone had to break up their statue for a replacement? I'd be curious to see how far up that peg goes, I'm wondering if it only goes up to right above the ankle.

If mine did begin to lean it’s the best Sups out there. Would have it repaired immediately.

Agreed. If something happens to my PF, I'll send it out to get it repaired and fix the leaning issue. IMO, this is THE Superman statue to own. Hell, I have 2 EX PFs so if one goes down, at least I have a backup (same with Bats and Joker). :lol
