Well...At least BBTS only has $4 shipping as opposed to...whatever SS decides to charge at the time...usually at least $20...

But you also get points at Sideshow. So that $20 becomes $8 to ship on this figure. So you're really saving $4.

But you have to wait an extra 2 weeks to get the figure from the time Sideshow could have it to you.

And time = money.

What is the value of having first pics up here? Or having your figure in hand two weeks early? Or being able to get replacement parts while Sideshow still has them?

Is all that worth $4?

"$23.50 Non-Refundable
Down Payment Required "

FUUUUUUU

If they start adding this, there's really no reason to order from them.

The entire perk of ordering HTs from BBTS is that you could cancel without losing money.

Now it's basically the same as Sideshow, except Sideshow you gain points and whatnot...

Whoever made this decision at BBTS is a dumb dumb.

Seriously????......can you imagine the amount of people ordering, then cancelling after they get over their little post movie high. I totally agree there should be a NRD. It's more about making you decide if you really want it, than the money.

Plus their shipping price is way better than SS too. Don't forget that. SS vouchers etc often don't even cover the full amount at SS.

Then you have great shops like Timewalker Toys where service is the best I have ever seen. Things like that also need to be considered.

Well that sucks about an NRD at BBTS now too. The odd thing to me is that they seem to sell through their stock faster than Sideshow presumably because they order less. That was a major reason to order from them but if they're going to start that I don't know if I'll keep using them as often. They still have the perk of lower shipping but Sideshow had rewards points so it balances out somewhat.

I think all the retailers got stuck on that deal but I get the feeling it's more a result of Hot Toys overproducing than anything.

It depends where you live too. If you're from CA, like me - you get shafted by SS sales tax and end up paying 40 over retail for every figure.

Those NRD are simply a defense mechanism from retailers. Pretty much any local source in my parts are using it. unsold stocks can kill a business. Ever noticed that pattern where a newly created (e)store will have particularly competitive offers while getting pricier as time goes by. It often means those businesses are trying to compensate unsold stock by maximising profit on new stuff. In the end, too many cancellations is one (but not the only) factor hurting the collecting community.

This is true except with the caveat that you can pile of loot several figures and ship them all for $4. I think we talked on this earlier but I have K2, R2, Luke, and 2 gunners coming likely within 2 weeks of each other. Would have been $120 at sideshow to ship, and not double boxed.

When ordering from BBTS, do you get a shipper with the figure, or nah?

Yes, that is an added bonus. I've never ordered anything that came the same time as something else so I often forget about that.

Funny how the exact people who cause NRD are the ones complaining about it. Your tears are great to see. Maybe you will grow up and only order what you actually want.

All the figures I've gotten from them have the shipper and are also double boxed. I somewhat get the reasoning behind NRD's but I also feel like it should be a case by case thing personally. If people order and cancel left and right that's one thing and there could just be a site rule about it (Alter Ego Comics does that). Also I think that the fact it takes as long as it does for figures to arrive contributes to cancellations. It'd be really nice if we could get a smaller window for when figures will arrive. Mostly everything is a year or more off and sometimes things come up. I rarely cancel but I still don't like to be locked into a deposit if there comes a reason that I need to.

I also get hit with the CA sales tax (but that's my fault) So yes it's worth it :lol

The $20 and $25 coupons were really nice for someone like me. It's too bad they've stopped them for now. I love ordering from Sideshow for the rewards points and the fact that when shipped I get it the next day because I'm so close to them.

The reason I tend to stick with Sideshow is the flexpay option. I'm definitely a big user of that. With the NRD at time of ordering, it tricks my brain into thinking the extra sales tax doesn't exist:lol

Add to that, BBTS will pack a single figure in an extra box. Where Sideshow just slaps a label on the figures shipper...It's kind of a bummer.

I wonder if this is an across the board change or if they are only doing this for sequel star wars figs because of the TFA stock debacle?

Also I agree that the now standard 12-15 month preorder window sucks. 6-9 months would be much better.

I don't blame them. Look at the hot toys harley - they were completely sold out before. Now that it's released they have over 10 on preorder, as we can't see their real numbers. In that case I'm sure they'll still sell out, but it's good to know how many you need so you don't end up with too much stock. Look at all their TFA figures still waiting for a nice home..

I've don't the math many times, being in California, we get hit with tax and shipping, not $4 shipping but $19 +/-, even with the rewards its not worth it.

BBTS is way cheaper on shipping than anyone maybe the overseas sellers yes, if you don't care about the brown shipper.

Yes, brown shipper is a Sideshow thing, sideshow is a distributor so anything from the states or Canada will have a B Shipper.

I'm seeing Keanu
