Has anyone ever tried to raise a Detolf?

I used an IKEA BESTA TV STAND ( https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60294504/#/70294508 )

Very similar to my arrangement. Very nice. Maybe I should post pics? Mine won't be as nice though, as my basement is unfinished.

Keep in mind that the BESTA TV STAND Max. load is 110 lb
Single Detolf is 80lb + figures. 4 Detolf = 320lbs + figures.
You are X3 overloaded -_-;;

Am I right in thinking that you have 4 detolfs on 1 besta stand? Just thought the TV stand was smaller.

That is correct.
That particular BESTA holds 4 Detolfs

If anyone is looking for a budget option for raising single detolfs, Ikea Trysil bedside tables are also an option. I brought a pair in dark brown, which matches the black detolfs nicely, and just assembled the drawer part for the detolfs to stand on. The feet were removed from the detolfs, and holes drilled in the Trysil for the feet to be screwed onto them. The drawer is of course pretty useful as storage for all the accessories.

Some great ideas here. I'm going to buy some Detolfs to mod soon. I wish Ikea did a better solution to raise them. I have a few old Kallax systems I might modify.

I just bought four 1x1 kallax to raise my four detolfs. Thanks to everyone participating in this thread it was a good inspiration with a lot of good advices.

I measured my Kallax but could not get them to work size wise.

Those singles are perfect.

I see they are now selling the glass inserts again too. May measure up.

I like that 1x1 are thick, 100% strong enough to hold the detolf. 2x1 has only that thin middle partition, plus because of that the width isn't enough for two detolfs.

Glass inserts to kallax are nice, just not for me because of baby guerrilla i have at home I use two kallax shelves with doors as storage for cables and wifi modem. I only had to cut off the back side of the inserts. It all looks good i think. And of course i have all detolfs and bookcase attached to the wall.

They are too low to the ground for the Kalax glass inserts anyway. I was meaning for a 5x5 Kallax display. 5 lowest ones would be cupboards and then 20x glass. Or each side a couple of raised detolfs like yours. Trying to decide. I am picking up two used Detolfs this weekend.

I like the looks of your set up and was thinking of doing the same thing. Is it still holding up? Reinforcing needed?

I recently found the solution to my problem. I had these custom comic drawers made for my collection and raised the Detolf up high enough to do justice to the bottom shelf. Now I need to get on and sort out the lighting.
