Looks like it has lights in the chest box. Neither ANH or R1 Vader had a lighted chest box.

I don't hate money enough to want to buy this but as a display it looks fantastic.

yeah the base is cloud city themed but that's not an esb vader :p it's anh styled

Hence I said, "...you never know what's going on with Sideshow".

I mean, who's the art director over there?
You would think they would have at least a couple of staff look over the rendition/proto before moving forward. LOL!

Well they probably wanted the base to fit with the rest ;p

Back in 2014, Sideshow Collectibles released a Life Size Darth Vader. Now, a few years later, they are prepping to release a new version of the massive collectible. Sideshow has posted photos and details for the upcoming release. The previous version was based on his appearance in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, while the new Darth Vader Life Size Figure is based on his appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The most telling detail is the chest plate, which uses the design from A New Hope.

The huge statue stands over 7 foot tall on a light up themed statue base. Darth Vader features an articulated neck, light up LED function on the chest plate, and a tailored fabric outfit. Pre-orders begin on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 sometime between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon Pacific Time. The life size statue will be priced at $8,900. See all of the new photos by reading on.

$8900 plus probably $1k for shipping so you're basically looking at $10k for a wildly inaccurate piece. Gotta hand it to SS, they know there is a sucker born every minute! :wink1:

Fail on the resting hands posture. Doesn't look like casually resting at all, but more like he's pulling up his pants. Otherwise pretty cool.

The earlier version was never actually released was it? thought it was cancelled.
