Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Just because Kim did the sculpt , it means nothing about the company and its likelihood to follow through on a very pricey figure after they take ALL your money.

Kim could just be another person in the long line of gullible people who play a part in a possible charade bilking people of lots of cash.

She got paid .....even if they paid her 5000.00 for the sculpt, they would only need to sell 20 pre sells to tuen a profit with doing anything else......

If they pre sell 100?!?!?!?!?! 500!?!?!?! Thats a great profit margin.....I wonder how many distributers they have on the hook already?

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Well that doesn't sound good

Dodgy as hell if you ask me.
Kim wants to be careful as well, her reputation could be tarnished if this goes **** up. She's freelance now so just because she got paid don't mean they wont disappear with all the loot.

I contacted Molecule8 in the past with questions and they answered all of them without fail and were very nice and informative, now they have took money I asked some more about when we will see the full reveal and when shipping date will be, they have viewed the messages as you know it tells you on facebook, but this time have not answered one.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Its a trust issue.........just cause a young sculpted trusts them (probably cause she got paid) means nothing when it comes to a startups intentions or ability to actually produce.

I hope for Kim's sake she did get paid first....and not working off some sort of sales based commision.

People have paid up front to people on this very this site and still waiting 2-3 years for a custom..... using PayPal gift too.

Yeah. I made that point up thread. Strangely, it was ignored. :dunno

Molecule8 (New company)

I'm one of them, on at least 3 projects and I hardly collect high end customs anymore. I did buy this figure I figured PayPal would protect us. I know they extended the days insurance on goods lasted a few years ago.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

If a company was looking to screw people out of money would they really choose a Lennon figure to accomplish that?

There's something in the air this month. Molecule8 has seemingly attracted a certain negative crowd right from the start, but comparing what's going on in the forum with Facebook these past two weeks, it really looks like a huge spike in crazy BS and paranoia. Is the moon unusually close to the Earth?

Get the bomb shelters ready, I'm pretty sure the super-powers are also getting their news from Facebook.

Totally agree with your comment (I'm one of them), but as far as paying gift - it makes no difference on customs. Despite what people on this site keep saying, Paypal does not cover loss on custom items. It's in their T&Cs. So, adding the fees is pointless. I only pay them because most are abroad and you get a foreign transaction + CC fee anyway - works out cheaper for me.

:exactly::goodpost: This thread is bringing out the trolls and bad of this site.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Nothing to do with paranoïa. In fact, telling this to people feels a bit like your full of yourself.

It's simpler than that.

On one side, you have people that find it hard to justify giving away a fair amount of money to a stranger, with little to no proof that the project will go through. Nothing to do with PayPal protection, just feels like an overall waste of time.

On the other side, there's people with somewhat more experience in the hobby, who just don't like it when a random guy tells them what to do (or not ot do) with their money. They have the cash to spend, it's their hobby and if they want something, it's up to them to assume what goes on.

It's not about winning an argument. There's that weird hobby called "collecting" and this one can get expensive very fast. Remember that it's not exclusive to one elite group of people. You'll see different opinions based on different ways people like to collect.

:exactly: I also wonder when it became a thing that if someone disagrees with your position as strongly as you happen to agree with it that person automatically becomes a "troll" (yeah, yeah, yeah...cue the flimsy argument about repetition and not making a point etc...) and the sky is falling and the moon is crashing into the Earth and on and on...people on internet forums sometimes disagree and as long as it can be done without name calling (see the "troll" point) and hostility what does it matter...? if folks cannot tolerate someone disagreeing with their opinions they should write in a diary instead of an internet discussion group.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

As opposed to others insisting that people who are purchasing it are going to be ripped off? Okaaaaay....

Look, if you want to go on with this, it's all up to you man.

Just trying to tone things down a bit. If you can't understand that, you can always continue to argue with whoever you want.

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

Hopefully she knows and trusts them and it will be all ok as I would hate for her to be taken in by some charlatans

You've got to remember that KA Kim is one of the biggest names in the industry, probably only second to Howard. If it does go south, everyone will be on her side, so she'll be fine. Plus, she's already been paid :lol

Re: Molecule8 (New company)

I wouldn't say she's the biggest at all, Kojun, Yuli etc. even Arnie Kim have more stake in these companies and are bigger "names" if you ask me. K.A. Kim is really young.

Definitely the most talented though in my opinion.

This is a problem too. Whenever one person challenges another's position they assume they are being attacked. In your post You told people they were being "full of themselves". That is not my idea of trying to "tone it down". To quote you a third time, ***If you can't understand that, you can always continue to argue etc....

***Another effort to try and "tone it down" by being condescending. Perhaps the phrase "tone it down" doesn't mean what you think it does? :lol
