I was referring to a different conspiracy.....
MUAHAHAHAAHAHAA!

Interesting info however....I wonder if they require Asian roles for release there......
Or if its just pandering....

I think the casting is just pandering, unless it's a co production, then in that case they have to use local talent, but that's normal no matter the country.

But there was an article on Variety last month about the current US and China negotiations.

https://variety.com/2017/biz/asia/u-s-and-china-struggle-over-film-quotas-1201979720/

People can barely afford a family trip to the theater in the states during the blockbuster months from March to August and November December so how the heck are familes able to afford going to the movies over there!

Is it possible that their big box office receipts are soley just from their elite class of citizens?

Then again their population is 5 x the size of the USA (yet share similar land mass, yikes) so I guess it does make sense.

5 x the size of the USA!

I'm surprised Hollywood didn't have the entire RO cast be asian lol.

This article is from 2015, but it talks about the Chinise influence and censorship on the US film industry.

Let's get back on topic, shall we?

Some rough predictions after the trailer for the second and third act:

Luke takes Rey to the first Jedi Temple (what we later see burning) to perform some kind of ritual on Rey. There they meet up with Leia and The Resistance and we see Leia and Luke's reunion. Unfortunately Snoke dispatches the KOR and FO who interrupt the ceremony. During this, Kylo turns on the KOR and escapes with Rey. While Phasma and her troops set fire to the Temple, Luke kills most of the KOR. He then sees the Temple burning and assumes Rey is dead. Luke and R2 are then captured by the FO who take him to Snoke's lair. Snoke doesn't kill Luke but rather wants him to watch his Dark Side plan unfold as a form of torture. Kylo and Rey remain in hiding for days during which they hook up. Kylo shows her the Dark Side but tells her she has to be careful with its power because he knows unlike him she'd be strong with it. This backfires as Rey becomes enamored by it. Rey decides the only way her and Kylo can be together is if both Snoke and Luke are dead. Kylo disagrees and they argue. She leaves to kill Snoke against Kylo's wishes. She finds Snoke aboard his Star Destroyer but Snoke disarms her easily. He then persuades her to consider joining him by showing her advanced Dark Side powers. Luke is then broken out of captivity by Kylo - who begs Luke for forgiveness. Luke forgives him and they depart to find Rey.

That makes sense.

The rest sounds like terrible fan fiction.

Kylo turns on the KOR and escapes with Rey.

Why would Kylo turn on the KOR?

Luke and R2 are then captured by the FO who take him to Snoke's lair. Snoke doesn't kill Luke but rather wants him to watch his Dark Side plan unfold as a form of torture.

Isn't Luke a powerful master Jedi? He gets captured? Snoke doesn't kill him and just wants him to watch...is Snoke really Bane?

Kylo and Rey remain in hiding for days during which they hook up. Kylo shows her the Dark Side.

That's some Hunger Games stuff. And poor choice of words. :lol

So she easily falls for Kylo and then just like that Snoke convinces her to join him?

Luke is then broken out of captivity by Kylo - who begs Luke for forgiveness. Luke forgives him and they depart to find Rey.

Just like that he forgives the guy who killed his students and best friend? Also, Luke can't even escape by himself? ****** Rey escaped by herself in TFA, but Master Luke needs help? :lol

And when this doesn't happen will you still think whatever actually does happen will be the best possible scenario for the story (as you seem to with TFA)?

If I am wrong about everything and what we get is 100% different I will happily welcome ALL of it.

Speculating is fun, man. Just as long as you don't choose your movie over the actual movie.

There is no way in hell Rey turns on Luke and joins the guy who killed Han, then hooks up with him, then turns on him, and joins Snoke. :lol The feminists will burn down theaters.

It's clumsy AF, but I'll give Disney credit if they do something crazy like that, but I'm sure they'll play it safe.

Why would Kylo turn on the KOR?

Rey. He wants to protect her from what Snoke has in store for her. He most probably knows who/what she is and is very taken with her.

*Rey sees Kylo killing one of his own men during her vision of the future in TFA so its all but confirmed.

Isn't Luke a powerful master Jedi? He gets captured? Snoke doesn't kill him and just wants him to watch...is Snoke really Bane?

Spoiler Spoiler:

So she easily falls for Kylo?

Kylo is drawn to her Darkness while Rey will be drawn to his Light. They are Greys and will have a natural attraction towards one another.

and then just like that Snoke convinces her to join him?

I think The Dark Side of The Force will be like crack cocaine to Rey. She's naturally drawn to it and seeing how powerful it makes her won't help the situation. Snoke can offer her great power.

Just like that he forgives the guy who killed his students and best friend?

What else is he supposed to do? "**** YOU, Ben. You betrayed me. I don't need your help." Luke will see that Kylo has turned and saved Rey from the KOR.

Luke forgave Vader. He can forgive Ben.

and Rey being the reincarnation of the founder of the jedi order? Any truth to that theory?

Yes, Rey is very much looking to be a reincarnated Chosen One, meaning Anakin himself was the reincarnated founder of the Order. Making Rey the "second coming" in SW lore.

I believe she has Anakin's memories and skills which will be revealed to be those of that ancient Force-user The Whills created eons ago.

What cracks me up is that posters laughed at me here when I suggested Rey was Anakin reborn. Its somewhere in the HT 1/6 Kylo Ren thread. Everyone was saying "That's the stupidest thing EVERRRRRRRRR" lol

don't choose your movie over the actual movie.

I agree with this sentiment.

But you also have the freedom not to like a movie or a particular telling of an established lore.

We have yet to see this come true. However, you'd think when she says "you fear you will never be as strong as Darth Vader"... then she's really talking about herself, and just doesn't realize it yet?

I think its like Mickey Rourke in Angel Heart. She has no ****ing clue she's this horrible person. She has his abilities and memories but its almost unthinkable to her that they could both share a soul. I have a feeling we'll get a scene where she remembers far worse things than the duel on Bespin...
