We all had ideas on how things should have or could have happened. Just because Disney went in a direction that many of us did not foresee is no reason to look disparagingly at theses movies.

Why the hell not? Isn't that EXACTLY the reason to look disparagingly at theses movies?

I am no sexist but now the lead of the battlefront game is a female, rey is the star or this one, I mean common... lol

I did start my opinion by stating that we're all opinionated.

This is true. He's been much more tolerant since his banning.

Perhaps he's attained "gray-ness".

Wait hold on just one second here as I try to make sense of this grand epiphany......

Are Snikt and Nova one the same! :panic:

It all makes sense now if so!

Why am I always the last to know!

I mentioned this in the BF2 thread. :rotfl Also in TLJ trailer, airspeeders vs. walkers in this one? COME ON LUCASFILM! Real original there. :slap

You never will. Because you don't listen.

Oh I listen, bruh, and all I hear is "This movie sucked because it wasn't the movie I came up with in my head over the past 30 years."

That's the biggest problem with elitist SW fans. They all have a version of Episode VII they pictured after watching ROTJ and not seeing said version resemble what we got in TFA makes them foolishly dislike it.

His truth only.

SNIKT is as opinionated as the rest of us -- moreso much of them time.

He is forever hopeful of Star Wars, yet puts down Marvel -- and in many of the same ways that people here criticize Star Wars. He’s the worst type of opinionated poster -- a hypocrite.

My problem with the MCU comes from its formulaic approach to filmmaking. I didn't see any formula in TFA. The character of Kylo Ren alone is extremely anti-formula & making Luke a cameo and closing statement on the film was superbly bold. The MCU has over a dozen characters per each of their films yet none of them are truly memorable. Abrams and Mindel shot it in 35 and gave us a gorgeous 15/70 presentation. No MCU feature will ever be shot on film. Williams' score was fantastic. MCU music is garbage.

All of the components behind TFA are those of a well made picture while the MCU is truly fast food filmmaking.

You think I'm a hypocrite? Lol nah, just a man who won't subscribe to internet bandwagons but rather forms opinions based on quality and not community.

Lucas had already given society a strong female in the form of Leia, Rey is nothing new to get upset over.

Now as far as a gay character goes we all know that C3PO was gold colored for a reason. Perfectly matches the actor inside the costume anyways. Golden Rod lol.

So Poe being gay, yeah Lucas already gave us that in 77.

:lol:lol

It's genius, because it's not politically correct to complain and Disney/Kennedy know it.

Hardcore fans will keep buying toys and watching the movies.

This is SW now. It's a girl franchise.

Look no further than the origin of the Jedi order according to the info Gaspar posted. It might be fake, but if it's true, Kathleen Kennedy is making one of the most boy centric franchises ever, into a girl power franchise :lol

.

Not the same. SW was about Luke, then it became a father and son story. The PT was about Anakin.

Rey is the main character of the new trilogy, not Finn, Poe, or Luke. It's all about Rey.

I just hope that Gaspar's info is wrong, because if it's true, then Disney is taking a giant dump on what Lucas created. It would make the OT and the PT pointless and a huge waste of time.

Nothing wrong with Rey being the lead. That's coming from a very anti-Liberal Mid-Westerner who voted for Trump.

"I have complete confidence in her."

No, nothing wrong, but Kennedy has an agenda, so it's becoming clear that they feel the need to feminize SW, and it started with Rey, then Rogue One's marketing putting what's her face in front of everyone else, the new Battle Front having a female lead, there's the Force of Destiny which focuses on only the female characters, and of the new characters in The Last Jedi, an Asian girl will have the most screen time, according to Kennedy. Not Benicio Del Toro or some other new actor. Then there's Kathleen Kennedy saying she doesn't owe the male SW fans anything after 40 years of guys buying most of the merchandise :lol

I don't care, but I think it's funny that people don't see it.

Do you ever read what you write? You really don't see this as opinion?

And where are these bandwagons? These days seems like there's a "bandwagon" for everything. That's a terrible excuse to discount many people's opinion. You voted for a man who lives on the opinion of "many people are saying".

Is it that your personal beliefs are so intertwined in the Star Wars mythos to the point where invalidating one would undermine the other? There has to be a reason you're so obstinate about contrary opinion on only Star Wars.

SW was just SW in 77.

Ok sure the movie was about Luke's journey but that still doesn't diminish Leia one bit.

Who gave the medal awards out?

Who stood front and center as only royalty can?

Leia was very female-empowerment in her day. That was the trick -- the flip on the tried-and-true damsel-in-distress. "Someone has to save our skins."

Today though, I do see an oversaturation with female leads in everything. It's like the Age of Woman has come -- Rey, WW, Hunger Games, Rogue One, all the new Marvel female villains, Atomic Blonde, Insurgent, Ghostbusters, Shonda Rimes television, etc... Its a boon time to be a woman.

Like anything, this will tire too.

Well, I don't have a problem with female leads in action/genre movies. Wonder Woman needs to be female, so that's a given. Hunger Games was a book, but it started the recent trend, and I remember saying TFA was just copying Hunger Games before it came out, but people were like Finn is the main character, not Rey.

Marvel only has one female villain so far in Thor, and again it makes sense because she's a character in the comics. Ghostbusters was big mistake and it failed as a result of the gimmick.

Insurgent is done and a rip off of Hunger Games, and Atomic Blonde is just an over sexualized female John Wick, and it will fail too.

Female leads aren't a problem, but Kathleen Kennedy has an agenda, so she's going out of her way to force these new characters that look like her :lol

I bet Han Solo is taking a backseat to Emilia Clarke's character. Watch her be all sassy and better than Han at everything too :lol
