What I don't care for is how this has polarized Indy fans into "I don't want to hear a different opinion" camps. Liking the movie is fine as is disliking it, but actually discussing it seems to be out the window.
I think making a positive thread is equally as much a ****** move as this.
My only point is when people were discussing why they didn't like it they were immediately jumped on by the usual fan boys. Why feel the need to argue with them? If they didn't like it then so what? They gave their opinion that they certainly are entitled to. Do you see the double standard? It doesn't matter I am out to hang with friends and family for the day. I just made this thread to prove a point which it actually has just by seeing the people that posted in it.
I didn't like the movie at all, but I still wasn't disappointed - I just enjoyed watching Harrison Ford back as Indy, and I loved the fact that he played his age. I also thought Cate and Shia gave really good performances - really wasn't expecting that!
As an Indiana Jones movie it was far too talky, not fast enough, silly in places (Tarzan) and didn't live up to the first twenty minutes. Plus it was really clear that the filmmakers don't like leaving America anymore.
I actually preferred Jeb Stuart's Saucermen script. But, it wasn't Phantom Menace-awful, and most importantly, Ford is still so charming, entertaining and watchable, and Indy such a great character, that I'd love to see a fifth.
I've not seen one person that liked it jump on anyone who didn't.
So if there is any double standard its being made by you and anyone who doesn't like the movie. So you proved no point other than the people that are hating it can't stand people liked it.
It's bad to complain about such trivial things. SO we didn't like our snobbish American movie....what about the starving children in AFRICA!!?!?! horrorWhy not! Post what you don't like.
