Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

Cute. Guess these SS figs are selling well.

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

No interest but she looks ok. I think Hong pictures she looks pretty good. I'd expect DC fans will get a SWAT Joker to go with this fig at some point

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

Looks great to me. More to life than buff guys with legs slightly apart, clenched fists/gun raised.

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

Nothing inspiring here.. Pretty bland figure choice. This is an easy release for HT. A new head sculpt with some bland clothing and accessory choices. This is just for extra cash for HT to put into other designs. I do agree in that I'm surprised it's not some kind of limited toyfair release or something. To me this only caters to the diehard Harley Fans who can't get enough, female collectors wanting more female figures, and the anime loving Chinese/Japanese collectors who buy odd stuff. Still, this makes more sense than that porcelain china ANH Stormtrooper (along with Copper & Gold, but there not quite as bad). I don't think anything HT makes can be a more WTF than that thing!! :lol

Those in love, ENJOY!!! :clap It's your hard earned money to do with as you please... Most people don't get our hobby anyway...

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

I'm a big fan of the HT's new DC line but it's a pass for me. No other reason it's not as iconic as her main outfit and no doubt this will be at least another $240 figure that will only look decent in a custom diorama. Have to pick my battles (figures) more carefully now with so many Marvel, DC, Star Wars, ect figures being released.

I'm at the point now where I only buy the main version (Batman's BvS line being the exception) of the figure now.

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

Why didn't they ever do a Lex Luthor? They coulda made a prison version of him too.

That does look a bit better, but the problem is using JC Hong shots. Tweak the promo shots and we're lucky to get something half as good. The Hong shots normally look spot on, so when they're off like this that's a bad sign. Still, the expression makes me prefer this over the standard's headsculpt so if you can swap the pigtails I may get the head for the standard Harley.

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

At first I was going to talk about HT, but they are a business, and I would have to assume that they produce figures that for whatever reason they think will sell.
So now I'm starting to think that it's me. I just don't understand the mindset of 1/6 scale collectors. Because I don't know why anyone would want this version of the character. Other than the hair, you can't even really tell that it's Harley Quinn. It's just some chick in a prison outfit. There are some figures where I don't get it because I don't happen to like the source material, but with this one... I have a really hard time understanding why someone would want it. To each their own as always...

Because with the upcoming SWAT Joker you can do the final scene. I can't think of any other reason :-/

Anyone who has seen the movie knows who this is. Thats the people this figure is aimed at.
A Deadshot figure isn't exactly going to cause mass recognition in a shop window either, but fans of the film will recognize him.

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

Based on those pictures her head is too wide and short like they compressed her head... I'm hoping it's just the pictures. I could care less about the figure but I would like this as an alternate head for the other Harley figure.

Re: Hot Toys Harley Quinn Prisoner

I'm a Batman completist, but Hot Toys is slowly weaning me off. There are just too many releases for this particular movie. Instead of pumping out just a few bat-releases per year, there's triple the old amount, and not from any of my favorite properties.

Just for Suicide Squad, there are three Jokers (with a fourth shown), two Harleys, Deadshot, Imposter Batman (with rebreather version shown as well), and two henchmen shown. That's eleven figures, and there still might be a gown Harley, Dr. Quinzel, or even SWAT Joker. (At the same time, I'd be very happy to see a Katana or Croc to give the line more variety.)

Add into the mix the Arkham video game figures, and possibly Romero Joker (my number 1 want), and that's way too many Hot Toys Batman figures to collect for me. I've already passed on Imposter Batman and the black chrome armored Batman from BvS to save money on figures not appearing in the movies, but now I'm going to have to be forced to pick and choose even further. For me, that means less Jokers, but I already pre-ordered all three, not expecting this kind of figure glut.

I have 15 figures from the Nolan movies. That's three movies of releases over more than a half decade of time. The only unique figure I'm missing from that line is the Cop Joker. I was able to collect that line because of the slow trickle, only interrupted by even better releases here and there ('89 and '66 figures).

I'd buy these Suicide Squad releases if they spaced them out. As of now, it looks like this Harley is going to be a purchase on the secondary market years down the line, if even then...

I understand where you're coming from but it's hard to criticise them for giving us more choice. Obviously you dont have to buy them all. I wish they'd given us multiple Pfiefer Catwoman figures to choose from and didn't ignore some characters altogether.
