Ha, I like how the boxart for Batman matches the Batman Begins toyline.

I wish we would've gotten anyone else besides Harley Quinn since there are already solid figures of her in that scale, but still, she looks great. I'm glad to see their 7" DC line is still thriving.

Interestingly, they look stocked just among the regular collector figures and not with DVD/BR inventory like usual.

Looks like the best Bale Batman figure in 7" scale to date.

It's not a matter of relationship with WB, it's Mattel basically having a DC monopoly on certain scale of figures. NECA can and has pumped out 18" figures with ease, Mattel controls standard retail in the 7" scale, the promotional releases for NECA is just a legal way around Mattel's deal, and considering this is the third year, I'd say WB is really happy with NECA to continue their legal run around.

Similarly, Hasbro probably has a master deal for 7" Marvel, but Disney may be more costly or difficult to work around than WB, or maybe Hasbro was smarter and secured a deal that includes promo items.

I'm just thankful NECA understands the desire for their figures in 7" scale and works out these loopholes to get them out.

Yeah, I know about the Mattel hold but it always sounded like ultimately it was WB that made this happen from the beginning. But like you said, I'm just thankful it continued this year. Funny enough, earlier this week I was kinda bummed thinking it wasn't going to happen. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for the next few days hoping for one more :)

I'm hoping for Penguin or Robin to compliment my collection, but I'm just glad for Bale Bats, I have Hot Wheels '66 and '89 Batmobile as well as the Tumbler, I have NECA Batman figures to go with every Batmobile except Tumbler, now I'll have a complete set.

Sweet idea for a set up! I actually wouldnt mind if they released Ben to go with the others (but not this year before Penguin or Robin). Now if only Randy had a soft spot for Kilmer and Clooney...

Wow, aren't we all so surprised? ;)

This is fantastic news. I passed on the other ones as I have them all in 1/4 scale already (save for Sups but I don't care too much about the Reeve version). Might considering chasing down that 7" Batman though.... but it's gonna be hard considering I'm in Canada. Don't like paying those scalper prices.

Not bad from Neca, but I stopped collecting their figures a while ago.. Thing is, they're not killing it whether they're doing small figures or 1/6 figures or 1/4 statues, it's never on par with what Hot Toys or Enterbay or even GoodSmile/Figma (to me those are the best figures when it comes to small articulated figures) deliver.

But the prices are very reasonable, so I did buy a fair bunch of their stuff in the past. 4 or 5 years ago (don't exactly remember when I bought those), I was very happy with their Terminator line, the figures seemed very cool to me, the headsculpts especially given the prices, but as of 2016, it looks very cheap to me. I'm still keeping those figures for the nostalgia aspect, but I might give 'em away at some point.
I also did like their Alien line, and even their "Horror" line (some cool looking Jason and Ash from Evil dead).

Very surprised they still are considered by collectors.. They are charging a very good price, I'll give you that, but the quality is nowhere near what I expect nowadays. They only surprised me on one figure, it was a 1/4 figure of Batman from Arkham Knight, this was very surprising (but looking not so good when you're staring at it from a close distance).

There's your problem. You can't seriously compare Hot Toys or Enterbay to them. Even their 1/4 are only $100 and a Hot Toys will run you over double that and in a smaller scale.

Also not all of us can afford those higher end figures. Honestly I can't see how NECA isn't killing it. They're putting out some damn good stuff. I also believe NECA is even better than those other high end companies when it comes to bang for your buck value.

Edit: I mean seriously how do these NOT kick ass? ;) Some are definitely better than others, I'll give you that. I only collect their 1/4 figures but even a lot of their 7" stuff looks fantastic. For 1/4 their Batman Begins, Penguin, Iron Man Mark 43, Hulk, and Arkham figures are especially worth mentioning.

I'd be down for a Batfleck too. My thing is I like to have complete, balanced mini collections in my overall collection, so in this case, Bale Bamtan rounds out my grouping of cars and Batmen, and a Robin would give me an alternate option of a dynamic duo display. If no Robin this year, I may consider Mattel no matter how cheap he'd look next to NECA West.

Ah, I completely agree that the prices are completely different. BUT, I always want to put the money aside when I'm talking figures, because I don't feel it should impact your judgment on it. Sure you can say "this is not worthy of a $250 figure" "this is not acceptable for a $20 figure", "wow the figure isn't so great but for $10 it's a good deal". But I don't think it's a fair way of comparison.

To me what matters is quality, nothing else.

If you want to talk about money: I know we all have different budgets, don't have the same income, and I'm not a millionaire either. I just don't spend my money on things I feel aren't worthy of my money. I save a lot, and on the other hand, I can spend a lot once in a while, depending on the quality. I don't hesitate on spending $300 on a restaurant date to offer my girlfriend the best food she can get in the town once every 6 months, because the quality is there (while she hates me collecting those figures, she appreciates me for reasoning the same with restaurants). On the other hand, we never buy fast food, or do cheap restaurants. We prefer spending a lot in a restaurant once a while, than going to cheap restaurants every week.

What only counts for me is the end result. If something is worthy, I won't buy a lot of stuff I could buy for a cheap price to save for the more expensive great thing I want.

So with this logic, I can only say that with time, Neca figures look too cheap for my money.

When you look at Neca, you can say it's not expensive. But I really prefer buying ONE Hot Toys over 20 Neca figures.

That being said, money aside, I didn't buy Neca figures because they were not very expensive, it had nothing to do with the money.

I bought their figures because 4 or 5 years ago, Neca was the only brand that released some figures I wanted in a decent look (like the T-2 battle damaged, some Aliens figure, etc.)

But with time, it changed and Hot Toys did release some figures I wanted.

I don't think those Neca figure look ass, BUT... they don't look great either. I got some Terminator figures from Hot Toys, and I never look at my Neca figures anymore. It's a completely different world quality-wise.

It's just a question of quality. I feel that Neca put cheap toys on the market, and they're not unlike Hot Toys business-wise: they all need the money. Because the quality is cheap, they can afford to release a whole line-up of figures, which is very appealing because like me, you tell yourself "damn they already release all those variants, nobody else did, I need those." And they're unbeatable on their prices.

But I will say, to me it's one of the cheapest "collector" figures brand there is on the market. To me, Good Smile/Figma are completely killing Neca on every similar release, and they're not that much more expensive.

All the figmas I have, I may never part with them because for their size, it's perfection. I bought the latest Link from Figma (from the latest 3DS Zelda game) and it looks beyond amazing. Even an old Figma I have, Robocop, I still like it up to this day because it's so posable and the armor is shiny and true to the movie's colors (only thing that isn't good is the lower face, which absolutely looks nothing like Peter Weller). While the Necas from Robocop I have (regular, battle damaged, and the video-game version)... they really look so cheap. The paint, the articulation, the overall look: not good.

I would like to know out of all people who still collect Neca, do you also collect Hot Toys or figma figures, and if so: do you find any point in keeping those Neca?

If it's just a budget thing, my best advice would be to save on those cheap figures, and you will see that if you pass on like 10 figures, you'll end up having enough money to get a Hot Toys figure you will keep for life and never be disappointed with ; )

(of course it's all my own opinion, no offense)

I go back and forth on that. Sometimes, I like just being able to put down a $20 and get a figure I can goof around and and not be delicate with. But then to your point, I do sometimes feel buyers remorse doing that and will think "I could have put this money towards something a lot nicer". Picking up Armored and regular Hot Toys Batman this past couple weeks definitley kept those smaller figure purchases in line, but throwing down $500 as opposed to $40-60 wasn't fun either.

With me, it also has a lot to do with the specific line. I don't have any regrets when I buy a Neca figure as opposed to say, Marvel Legends. Which can be fun to collect but the thrill doesn't usually last long for me and I usually end up getting rid of them.

7" Begins Batman - Awesome

7" Harley Quinn - ****ing Lame

Beggars can't be choosers, but I really wish that was Devito Penguin or 60s Robin instead. The market is saturated with Harley Quinn at the moment. The 1/4 of her JUST came out like a month or two ago. Would have preferred these 7" NECA figures be movie only.

Oh well, Begins Batman looks fantastic. Love the 2005 era box art.

Thats pretty awesome. I wish they would have pushed out a 7" Arkham Knight Batman. They probably skipped penguin because they couldn't get the cloth coat to work on a smaller scale.

Or Maybe they are waiting to pair him with Catwoman next year. If we Only get one Penguin in 7 inch form I would rather it be the Mayor version. It wouldn't take them taht long to make the coat into an softer plastic. They have modified 7 inch figures before.
