They said 2 days, so I imagine they either found enough good ones for replacements in their inspections or they cobbled together enough.

I was asked to destroy mine outright. The agreement with SSC and IS is to go back to formula in the warehouse and reproduce. I was surprised at first to destroy it but you have to understand my statue:

Came chipped
Came with pieces broken in box
Came with no webbing
Came with smudges on the paint
Came with mismatched paint lines and glued lines

They asked me to destroy it so I tried to remove every piece and put them all in a trash bag to destroy. When trying to remove the signs the metal pieces stuck so tightly they wouldn't come out. The plastic OSCORP broke off. The glass on the windows snapped.

As a standalone piece I've never seen anything like it.

But there was some major issues with this piece and they are trying to fix it. They need to try and go with better plastics on the staircase. To have it snapped off in the box was shoddy. The fact alot of the pieces that fit in place were off and never fit snug. The bad paint lines. The glued areas didn't really bother me.

The actual Spidey was magnificent. The designs n the suit and the texture... greatness.

Hope you all get what you deserve out of this piece.

So I destroyed Spidy as instructed, breaking both legs off from the hip. What glue do you guys recommend to put him back together? I plan to display it standalone somewhere.

If they haven't given you the ok yet I doubt just two broken legs will fly.

I had to smash my Wolverine (had zero intentions of putting him back together) and they asked me twice to break him up. First time I just broke the legs like you did. Second time I had to really go at it.

That's correct they take every detail into account. Just breaking the legs isn't breaking it properly. I generally use a sledge hammer to obliteration. I also took pics by frames so they could see it would be virtually impossible to put back together again.

Asking people to smash the statues is the most stupid thing ive heard of. Take it back and refurbish the darned things or use them as spare parts for people who need replacements.

It really shows how cheap these things are to manufacture. It's just not worth it to them to pay to have you ship it back.

I see your new to collecting! This is nothing new it's the norm. I've seen people destroy $2000 statues

I'd be surprised if Iron Studios proceeds to make these all over again.
The one's out there that weren't returned or destroyed might be the only one's left.
This might turn out to be a desirable piece in the long run.

It's certainly pretty clear that they won't be "updating" the statue in an way. Sounds like simply manufacturing new ones and watching over it with a keener eye this time.

I collected gaming related pieces through ebay or amazon but very recently made the transition to comics which means dealing directly with the heavy hitters like sideshow. This spiderman was my first statue bought directly through them.

Got my smash request. They said a replacement will be shipped in 1-2 business days and will be inspected by their QA team. So hopefully the replacement is good.

Only thing that concerns me is that we'll luck out if they in fact redo parts of the statue over the next 6 months.

Ok cool! You made the same choice I did. I'm from a video games background bought tons of collectors editions. But later down the line got tired of it. Switched to bigger scale stuff and never looked back lol

Gaming will always be my number 1 hobby :yess:
but when it comes to statues.....the quality between what we get here and the stuff that comes with collector's editions is staggeringly incomparable. Don't really like the statue politics on this side of the fence though...but I'm learning to try and ignore the bs and just sticking to the art lol
