Bingo!

I used the Batarang from this figure:

https://www.wizarduniverse.com/matbbcebat.html

It's a darker bronze colored folding Batarang that's oversized for that particular 5" scale Batman. The regular version of this figure has the same Batarang, although in a brighter gold color. I started using the Mattel Batarang because the gold paint rubbed off my Takara Grapnel Gun. The Batarang is cast in the dark bronze color, so no worries of paint lifting off and sticking to the figure's hands:

Here's a photo of some of my other accesories for my Takara Batman.
The Joker Evidence Card and Mini-Mine are custom.

The Mini-Mine is made from a 6mm plastic Airsoft BB, drilled with holes with the pressure probes made from thin dia. plastic rod. It's in the deployed mode, hence the tiny red "light".

The Joker Card was scanned reprinted/resized via Photoshop from images grabbed off Google. The card was then sealed between clear tape to appear as if it was a zip-lock bag.

I had both.. they're the same.. and that batanarang looks like a repaint of the batnarang that came with the 5" figure from mattel.

Here's a photo of my Superman and Batman lineup:

I missed out on the first Hot Toys Superman, so I was pretty thrilled when they reissued the figure with a better headsculpt and body! It even came with Clark Kent's head and clothing!

As for the Batman, it's an original issue. I was watching several bids on Ebay, when a great friend gave the figure to me as a birthday present.

Cool shots Spliff, I've always wanted to put a wire into the cape on my Tak Batman.

Hey Mini-Art, did you make any modifications on your Batman? I don't know if it's just the lighting in your photos, but Batman/Bruce's face (the lower half, anyway) looks like it's been repainted. Maybe it's just my imagination.

I love the custom Joker card btw.

is there a certain name for this wire and is it all the way around or just in the left and right sides ?.
Any help would be brilliant pal .
Thanks , Tay. :D
the wire was actually a gift from a friend, so i'm just as clueless as you. :(

all i know is it was purchased at a joann's fabric store in the beads section. it's really strong though. as for how i wove it in there, it's actually one long piece run throughout the whole cape, with a part wound around his neck as a base so the wire can hold itself up. gonna be sewing more wire into the cape so he can have a full armature in there. :)

Yes, I did repaint Batman's face. I used Games Waorkshop acrylics, adding highlights and shading around the mouth, and clear acrylic gloss to the eyes:

I also repainted the Bruce Wayne head as well. Besides shading and highlighting the face, I added extra details to the hairline, eyebrows, lips and eyes. I also rooted a few loose strands of real hair to the front of his scalp, styled with hair gel:

Spliff,

Could you post a close up image of the area you sewed the wire into? Did you need to hem the swen edges? You modification is awesome!

i'm gonna be sending it to a friend to get a full wire armature under there for even better poseability. been trying to hunt down an HT Batman to swap the boots out, but since he's so rare/expensive now, the Medicom figure will have to do. after that i'll have the perfect BB in my eyes. :D

very nice pictures dude :)

BUT, the takara boots are the most movie accurate...

Is there any difference in the sheen of the Batsuits? My suit is flat black, almost grey in certain light conditions, while in some of the photos posted here...alot of the reissued Batman figures have a shinier, almost semigloss batsuit.

different people, different light, different camera
but same figure.

I took different pictures, and on some pictures it looks glossier black than in real life.

looking good with the wirework, spliff!!!the cape's built for that i tell ya!!!:rotfl

i actually just broke my camera this morning, so no go...BUT if you look at the tips of the cape you can clearly see holes in the tips where you can easily slip a wire through. i'll have pics for you when i set the other 3 wires in for his armature though. :)

i don't remember batman wearing croc boots in the flick ;)

hot toys ones are the most accurate, but the figure is too expensive to buy just for some boots. :(

croc boots? what do you mean?

it is obvious on even that picture that the takara boot is almost the same as the movie boot...
also a 2-piece boot.

the medicom and hot toys share, more or less the same boot:
review_takbats_9.jpg

notice the takara figure has strayed in favor of ankle movement?

The Takara boots aren't as inaccurate as you may think.

screen accurate replicas of the movie boots:

See? It looks like a two piece boot. However, whether or not it really is, I don't know. And Riko, how are you so sure that the movie boots are actually composed of two separate pieces?
