Sorry for the delay, K. I meant to answer this for you a few days ago. I'm certainly not in the mood to do another teardown, so I'll use a stand in. This body (Boba Fett Supertrooper) is the same as the Scout, with only one difference. The shoulder area lacks the 'sleeves.' I imagine it's so that the chest armor can sit as low as possible on the shoulders. The neck is the same long neck they use on all armored characters. Also, it's cast in black plastic.

Thanks for that, Rubio. :)

Looks like it's based on the Pro 1.1, with a 1.2 neck.

Should mean that it's compatible with the HT/Coo/knock-off narrow shoulder type.

I just cancelled my preorder. The knee pads bug me, they look like the trooper's wearing cardboard cutouts. The fabric around the neck sticks out in a really bad way, which admittedly I think can be futzed. I was keen on getting a third trooper alongside my stormtrooper and snowtrooper, but I'm not feeling 100% with this one.

LOL! :lol That Scout Trooper looks more yellowed than some old beat-up Kenner figure! :lol

Does anyone know how well the Sideshow Scout Trooper fits on the old 1/6 Hasbro Speeder Bike? Pics? I have the Speeder bike, and thought about painting it and detailing some, but no Scout Trooper to ride it, I just would like to know how well it works before I buy a Scout Trooper.

Wow, the Hasbro Scout looks WAY more accurate.

Looks pretty good to me. I can deal with the small nitpicks about the helmet and such. However, what's up with the kneepads?

Lol...'the midsection is too white...the armor is too yellow.'

Ah, the wisdom of the message boards.

For the record, it does not appear yellow in-hand. There's a bright white background in my pics.

Yeah that white midsection with the bad stitching looks hideous. Very glad I didn't order this and can wait for the Hot Toys one.

'Hideous'?

Okay, you didn't order it and have nothing constructive to say about it. You'll wait for Hot Toys. Gotcha.

So go away.

It is not a perfect figure. Besides accuracy issues it has other issues like bad stitching or weird colored armor. And still it is a very nice figure. Trust me, when comes to Imperials I don't forgive anything since they are my focus. You might end up waiting a looong time for HT Scout.

Beautiful shots, WG....thank you!

I like him here, Wor-Gar.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the kind words.

I am quite shocked to see the variance in the helmet. So many ways its 'off' -- no getting around it. I don't understand why, nor where Sideshow got the ref for the knee pads. Very off indeed. However, I'm also well aware that by the time HT gets around to a Scout Trooper I will definitely want one no matter what... so this will either be my 2nd background Biker to go with HT's... or perhaps I'll just upgrade the head and knee pads if HT's isn't worth the $249.99 its going to charge by that time.

None of these figures will last forever. Haven't you guys learned this yet? Even HT upgrades its own 'masterpieces' (like the Mk 1) and usually makes a slightly better version. I'm quite sure a year from now we'll get an even better Stormtrooper from them. Not sure how, but I have no doubt.

Remember this is Sideshow. You know their build technique by now. None of this should be shocking, except their pricing. Everything they've produced has been 'off' in some way, some moreso than others. Remember too that this was approved by Lucasfilm.

Besides, if you're going to have him holding the rifle, then he's automatically NOT from the movie. So why worry?

...(prop on left, SSC on right)...

The curvature on the black eyepiece of the prop looks very dramatic compared to the Sideshow version.

However, here's a screenshot from ROTJ showing it to be more like the Sideshow:

There's either camera distortion or there are different helmets...

I don't know Scout helmets like I do Stormtrooper armour, but I think there were a couple of different Scout helmets used in the film, similar to stunt and hero helmets for stormtroopers...?
