Oh, I am serious. You can believe that! You have to understand that I was originally a statue collector. Most SS's 12" figures that have come out up until recently have been toy-ishly non-realistic,and SS Maul falls into that catergory.I do not collect toys! So if a comapny makes a figure that looks like one or that falls short of realism than I'm not buying.

I can see from your history around here that there's no point in arguing with you so I'll just leave it at this. Both Medicom and Sideshow make TOYS! If you don't collect toys that would mean you don't buy Medicom figures, but you've already stated here several times that you do so you're contradicting yourself. You can hate on the SS Maul all you want and as I stated I have my problems with it as well, but when you compare it to the Hasbro Maul there's no reason for anyone to take you seriously. End of story.

 You're kidding, right? Medicom's stuff is the most "toyish" of all.

That seems contradictory to me. Medicom figures have their high points, but I don't see anything about them to take them more beyond Hasbro/toy status than a Sideshow figure, especially when Sideshow uses real leather belts and Medicom uses molded plastic plastic.

Go ahead and like what you want, I don't care, but your argument for your POV makes absolutely no sense.

"Plastic belts" Oh well you got me there.Yeah,SS uses leather belts and Medicom uses plastic.I really can't tell the difference unless I get close up.Besides most of the figure is made from plastic anyway. But if YOUR argument for YOUR point of view is based on a belt, then that REALLY makes absolutley no sense. There's really no point and even going any futher with this as it looks like things are starting to get sour!

We're talking about collectables guys,nothing serious,so relax!

I for one am completely relaxed.

What I think we're trying to say, chavez, is that it would be nice if you appeared to be a bit more open-minded on here. You are so Pro-Medicom and Anti-Sideshow that you don't even see the inconsistencies in your own opinions. This whole 12" Maul debate is a perfect example. You say you dislike Sideshow's 12" stuff because you "don't buy toys", yet you champion Medicom 12" like nobody's business. Uh.... :huh

No biggie, of course... but if you want your opinion to be taken more seriously then you might want to be mindful of this stuff. That's all.

I have always steered way clear of these Medicom vs. Sideshow conversations. But I have to agree with Irish. My first Medi's were Boba Fett and Jango Fett. I have to say that they are my favorites and really well done, they look great and pose well. I respect and like both Medicom and Sideshow.

That being said, after dropping over $300 on two figures , I was a bit disappointed that figures of that caliber and price range, did not have at least leather or pleather belts, or that Boba's waist belts were molded plastic. I think that at that price range, I shouldn't have gotten Hasbro-esque molded belts.

In my opinion, the molded plastic, adds a toyish look to them. I ahve to agree with Irish. I bet that when Sideshow makes their own Fetts, there will not be molded plastic belts.

Let me state for the record that I was not insulting Medicom's figures by stating they look "toyish". IMHO, that's part of their design and appeal. They're much more plasticy and toy-like than either Hot Toys or even Sideshow's 1/6 offerings, and that's fine. Whether they are hideously overpriced is another discussion entirely.

I just found it odd that chavez would use the "I don't buy toys" line when explaining why he doesn't like Sideshow's 12" figures. Like Brent said, if he doesn't buy toys then he should probably steer clear of Medicom, too. In fact, if you don't like toys they're probably the last company you'd want to hitch your wagon to.

All I was saying is that your statement about how you collect 1/6 figures makes no sense. You say you strive for realism in pieces and you're anti-Sideshow because they come off like Hasbro toys to you, which sounds contradictory to me because fundamentally, Medicom figures have more in common with Hasbro than Sideshow figures.

I do not see toys! I see little people.:lol

Even if you don't see them as toys, they don't look anymore like little people than Sideshow or Hot Toys figures do.

Look,SS is getting better.I like the new direction their going in,but their old figure's are just crap to me,sorry!

I think this debate has been going long enough...

Sideshow Maul vs Medicom Maul...

:horse:horse:horse

I'll buy whichever version I want...or can afford...

Neither figure is bad though...both Medicom and Sideshow did a better job than Hasbro...

Except this one, which is undoubtedly better than both...

I don't care if you think they look like crap, if that's all you'd said I wouldn't have said anything but you were commenting about your statue owning and how you wanted something that looked realistic and not like a toy and I was just countering that logic with how toy-like Medicom's product can come off.

Well,I don't think Medicom's Star Wars figure's look like toys, with the exception of Luke IMO.I think they can look as or more realistic then some statues.Hell,I think they look more realistic than most of the PF's.I got rid of of most of my PF's because I felt they fell short of realism, especially Fett. They were starting to look like over sized toys instead of what they we're marketing them as mixed media museum quality statues.

Holy hell this is just funny. I seriously don't want to hear another freaking word tossed at me for being so pro SS. I mean I freaking review them and don't give them all 10's. Which means I am willing to see the faults in SS figures heck read my thoughts on Padme and you'll see I'm not all that jazzed about it. Chavez can't get of whatever his lust fest with medicom is to see that while they make a nice figure they do have issues as well. This is why I have him on ignore honestly. Its not that he doesn't like SS but he rips them and those of us that like them yet can't take any words at ALL said against Medicom.

Seriously, dude, you're showing that you have no credibility with some of the statements you're making. I have no horse in this race: I'm neither pro-SS or pro-Medicom. I like some products by both companies and likewise think some of their products are crap. It's clear that you have an anti-SS bias and it's fine if you don't personally like their stuff, but when you call the PFs over-sized toys and then turn around and say all the Medicom figures look like little people you've completely lost all sense of reality. You'd probably be a lot happier hanging out on a Medicom-only forum since you only like their products. Otherwise, I think you're the type that just likes stirring it up and arguing just for the sake of arguing.
