:gah:I've been debating what I wanted to do with this one, I've been dying for an Iron Patriot and seeing the picture with IP makes me pause at getting Mark 7 ... limited resources :gah:

Not a big fan of Iron Patriot and I hated the Mark 42 suit so at least I don't have to worry about those in the future. ;)

No, I meant the 1:2 scale Mark V that Legacy Effects made, not Sideshow. Legacy are the ones that made all the other 1:2 maquettes that you see in the previous photo.

I've never seen a 1:2 Mark V from them. Was it put out for sale or just a prototype?

The one in the photo below on the right. It was a model/maquette made for the movie, just like the other ones. Sideshow just hasn't gotten around to mass producing all of them yet.

Yeah, I remember seeing that pic a while back. I doubt that one will ever see the light of day as I don't think there's a lot of demand for the Mark V suit, but you never know.

Patriot is the worst design of all the suits, can't see too many paying 2k for that suit.

IP and MK42 (and obviously) WM MK2 are all the same basic suit with minor variants & paint.

Personally I like the design but the MK42 paint scheme just doesn't do it for me and WM MK2 doesn't deserve the name War Machine.

However, the Patriot is such an iconic suit for me (from the comics) that I love it. Even if it was given a hard time in the film lol.

The 1:2 scale was Mk III, this Mk VII release has now made it an undesirable companion piece for the previous release as it will be 1 ft (300 mm) smaller. This production was not about collectors it is about dollars, one foot smaller but the same price as the Mk III. Saving my money and will get a customized 1:2 scale. SS wake up if you if you value your collectors produce the products that fit in that series not repackage them at smaller scales.

How did you work out that there is a 1ft difference?

40" - 36" = 4"

4" = 101.6mm

101.6mm = 0.33ft

And if you look at the dimensions listed on the product page, to looks to me that SS could well have just put on the size of the figure, minus the stand. With 12" length likely being the distance between the chest and the back, rather than the length of the stand, which is included in the listed dimensions for the Mk III

I think the figures are the same size, the stands are the only difference.

Just have to wait for seven months now to find out.

:exactly: I actually agree. I also believe both the MKIII and VII LSFs are the same size and height. I think the MKVII LSF is gonna look amazing guys!!! :rock

agree with you guys, seems the dimensions listed are for the figure only without the base, no way the length is 12" with the base.

I know its not the best picture but I cant help but feel that this LSF will be fine in regards to scale compared to the MKIII. It looks pretty much the right scale to me and maybe someone who saw this in person at this years Con could confirm it looked pretty much spot on in terms of size :dunno I really don't think Sideshow would design this LSF to come up short against the previous Iron Man LSF...trust me, this one is gonna be killer!!!

Maybe SS put wrong numbers for height? They seem to do thah mistake with the weight of their statues
