Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I don't' see how. This is the clean figure and the other is damaged. They deserve separate releases.

:exactly: Of all the thing to complain about...

DX10 is truly an amazing figure to behold. I haven't seen any photos that do it justice.

if you can't save the cash by Q3-4 next year...then get a bloody job. :lol

Really not bothered that the bd was announced. Clean is my preferred look and more iconic.

Totally buying the bd though. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

i don't think its a slap in the face to people who just bought DX10, i have just bought it and i will be picking up the Battle damaged aswell as they both represent different parts of the movie and both stand out nicely.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

If I wanted a BD terminator and only a BD terminator I really don't think I would have bought this. Especially if I was on a tight budget.

I agree. If I only wanted a BD T2 Terminator, I wouldn't of bought this. the BD was inevitable, just takes patience to wait out for it.

And those with money problems can't say they don't have enough warning.

Still picking up the DX10 despite the BD announcement. In fact, I'm gonna get both. The DX version trumps the MMS version.

If im on a tight budget i wont be buying figures that i think are kinda cool and almost what I want. I'm putting my money away for something that makes me feel like a kid again.

Inevitable. Especially after the DX10 and EBs announcement.

I honestly don't think one trumps the other when they both look so good on display. Photos shmotos... :pfft:

I sold my EB T-800 a while ago and have absolutely no regrets - glad to be rid of it. The only 1/4 figure I have on order is the HT endo.

:goodpost:

I don't think the DX is better but i still would like to have them both and the endoskeleton whenever that comes out.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I read that some people were disappointed with the DX10 now that the Battle Damaged one is on it's way. I'm not sure if I understand.

For me, the clean (DX10 or MMS) version will always appeal more when people look at it when they walk into my collection room. It reminds us how awesome Arnold was earlier in the movie when his role changed from villain to hero. That would always have the greater appeal.

The Battle Damage look represents how he looked like much later in the movie, and it's more for the hardcore fans. You don't see official movie posters of Arnold being damaged for a reason: It's a spoiler at the time.

My point is, the definitive Arnold has to be the MMS/DX10. The BD is another much welcomed edition but I can't imagine having that without his clean look and for that I am soo getting the DX10 soon.

Nice video, best yet to hit the tube:hi5: I watched your dx12 review a couple of days ago too, good stuff. You should post a collection video as I would like to see what you have and how you display it:)

Wow, thanks for the compliment!! Have you seen the other videos I have on my channel?? :) I have a couple of collection vids there, with how I display, particular DX07!! Please check it out, or check out the Kool Kollectibles facebook page for pics!! All links are in my sig :)

Anyone who bought this has just been slapped hard :lol

When I first saw the announcement for the new battle damaged version, I was shocked, angry, pissed because I had just received DX10. But now that I've had a think about it, and looked through all the photos, I'm not pissed at all. I am really excited about the new release because it is the perfect complement to DX10!

You really have to hand it to the Hot Toys marketing and strategy folks. They know they grown heaps over the past couple of years, so there are plenty of new collectors (like me) who never got the MMS figure. So of course they would release the normal T-800 version first as pretty much the appettiser to the main course of the battle damaged version!! This way they cater to the widest possible audience in order to make the largest possible amount of money!! Perfect business sense in my book.

As long as HT continues to make quality figures (and this one looks top notch!), then they will continue to grow and become even more successful.

I for one think that since the head sculpts are pretty much the same in both DX10 and this new one bar the obvious battle damage, they perfectly complement each other in a display. I will definitely be getting the new DX too.

So you wanted the BD version, but bought the clean version? I just don't get the disapointment. HT making clean and BD versions of the same figure is nothing new. DX13 isn't even out for about a year... :huh:dunno

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I believe him. In fact I think I've been overrating the PERS on Keaton Batman - to study some head close-up pics I took recently his eyes look as cartoony as any other PERS figure I've seen. The only thing that might have over DX10 is he has makeup around his eyes and thus can't be said to have a guyliner effect.

Keaton bats looks like Keaton though. This looks "pretty close" to Arnie.

His eye's most definitely do not look cartoony. He's got probably the second best PERS out of the entire line.

I kind of think it's strange also that folk are desperate to prove that the DX is better than the MMS. You know what? It bloody should be. It's been released years later, is more expensive and comes from the deluxe line.... :lecture

BD announcement has just sealed a deal for the fence sitters. Very strange marketing move if you ask me. I'd sack the guy in charge if it was my business...:lol

Agreed. I always expected this from the start. I posted way way back in this thread that these first 2 releases represented the first and middle half of the movie. Now they will release the looks that represent him in the final parts of the film. I was always prepared to own multiple looks of him so this doesn't disappoint me at all. Bring it on!!

So this.

I'm banking on the idea they will do another T-1000 as a DX. I think two bodies with one which is head to toe in silver Liquid Metal! :yess::blissy

They do on mine, especially when photographed right up close like some of the pics of this T-800. I'll look for the pics later if I can tear myself away from the DX13 thread!
