from what i can see hes got a fuller face in batman and it looks like hes got skinny cheeks in ap which make his cheek bones more visible compared to wayne

Its not my preference, its just a apprehension, as I was taking as many screen caps of the 'cold stare' look... and sadly every time I started reviewing the caps I was seeing on a sculpt 'stripped of paint' etc etc its essentially a Bale sculpt. The younger/hair is there, but on an inanimate piece of clay the so called youth part as in 'fuller cheeks/narrower cheks' wont look significantly pronounced as Bale wasnt so called 'that significantly' older when he played Bruce Wayne.
And the track record shows that NO sculptor, has managed to get a Bale sculpt right on his/her first attempt. and those were all neutral faced looks and fell right into that trap, and specially I noticed in all screen caps of the 'cold stare' it was essentially the same face he made, but it was just in the subtle body language and look that translated it to that 'coldness' and on an inanimate sculpt I dont see how it can really work... the cold stare will become sort of 'neutral face' Thats what Im worried about. A little emotion be it smiling, frowing, smirking where a little bit of the musculature is pulled into play is essential to so called 'connect' to the expression of the actor
You will notice even Adam and Ko Jun did a subtle 'frown' of the brows to get that idea thing.
Please do not misunderstand my concern as me trying/wanting sculpts to be the way I want. If that was the case, we would probably never have the screaming sculpts. Im the last guy who asks a sculptor to do what he wants as I believe giving the sculptor their own room to choose whatever they feel comfortable, as that would mean they would deliver their best.
BTW PopCultKid you misunderstood my post, there I was saying that 'cold stare' not 'passive aggressive - which I consider frowning' would lead to an obvious territory of Ko Jun and Adam's work... which is very dangerous and potentially sticky territory for any artist's first attempt at Bale (well technically after the screaming sculpt its her second). Im advocating for a sculpt which although calmer to complement the screaming sculpt, show some nature of 'emotiveness' in whatever, as 'cold stare' look per se is an abstract idea for a sculpt and rather way too meandering territory because of the reasons listed above. and I have compiled a big list of 'netural/cold stare pics' I sincerely hope She can pull it off... because judging from the pics and how subtle its on the body language and eyes than just the face to convey the 'coldness' the sculptor has a difficult pretty much labouring and potentially a sticky job to get that on an unpainted stripped down sculpt... which will tend to hit Ko Jun and Adam's area because of its nature...
In a nutshell... I am totally for the cold stare because how itll complement the screaming, but I suggest people be open to a little more subtle expression on the cold stare sculpt like a slight frown, or smirk, or clenched jaw - anything so as to not evoke the existing sculpts by Ko Jun or Adam, as we want this to be distinct Bateman wether painted or unpainted

I think the way to break away from that is adding anger or a scowl to the sculpt. But that's just my take. It seems like a few others agreed. Let's hear what some more guys have to say.

So majority probably want that neutral based sculpt, hence my compilation of references... and thats what worries me as itll tend to be a Ko Jun/Adam clone...
Honestly at this juncture Im for any expression other than one which will have to go head to head with Adam and Ko Jun's interpretation
I made those shots in the compilation because those are what cold stare meant... thats it... Im happy with anything, BTW in the initiall poll I even added focused/disgusted if you remember. I all for any subtle expression other than the neutrality that cold stare will tend to become and end up being compared to Ko Jun/Adam's work... till now most guys have only gone cold stare none of the frown or smirk added with it...

Oh and a quick update... the next WIP of the screaming sculpt will probably be in sometime next week, Hyun Ji is really really giving it her all on this and is very very focused on getting it right knowing that this project will be one of Iminime's larger magnitude ones...

I still have this whole week before submission of the voted desired expression.. so ofcourse well see what guys think of adding a little frown/aggression to the cold stare... till now its pure cold stare for most. So unless that mood changes... those references you see will probably end up making the cut...

I am interested for sure and would vote for cold stare for additional sculpt. Will be interested to see how Iminime do on the suit its gonna need to be very very well tailored to look right

I'm game for throwing some anger into the "cold gaze".
But on the flip side.. Imagine the cold gaze with him in his suit, coat, holding an axe and briefcase. I almost like the sound of that better than the raincoat, almost.
