Answer: Lucas Film Licensing.
You got that right all the production pieces are done in excellent quality for the purpose of sale pitch.
On top of the exaggerated price I’ll bet the exclusive will have a low edition size to force the buying frenzy. Then in 5-6 years in the future when all prices are higher in everything then we will look back at this piece and think “Well that was a steal”
So you see Sideshow will win at the end; that is until they price themselves out of business.

I do appreciated the craftsmanship and talent of the artists behind this piece and it’s beautiful but at $350, no thank you Sideshow.

I think I'm still going to spring for this one. $350 is unfortunate but it hasn't stopped me from a PF and to me this piece might be a little smaller than a PF but the quality is definitely on par if not better. So it's worth it.

I've been waiting for over a year on this piece and nothing the naysayers say can dampen my good mood right now!

Its the stuff he's carrying that eats up space but its also the part that really adds to this piece.

I hear ya. I've been waiting for this to go up for order and get the ball rolling into the collection.

This is bigger then the LOTR statues but I'm still holding out for a typo.

They looked bigger at SDCC than the LOTR statues.

I may have to sell a few things and back off the Marvel line which I have been debating now for a couple of months. I'd rather collect SW and LOTR with a few DC/Marvel characters here and there.

Wait are you guys sure that the LotR statues are 1:6 and not 1:5?? I always thought they were the same scale as mythos.

Now regarding Obi-Wan I'm definitely not jumping on this come Thursday. Considering Maul is still in stock, there's no EX and it might be an open ES I really see no reason to rush into it.

Yeah there is no exclusive only 1 version. But they will label this exclusive because it will only be sold from sideshowtoy.com and not resellers, just like darth maul. I will wait for the gift cards..

Definitely getting this piece unless it has an open ES.

Seriously expensive for a maquette / fully sculpted.

Size is fine with me though - none of the statues are proportionally correct anyway 1/6, 1/5, 1/4 whatever.....it was a decent enough size when I saw it.

This one and Darth Vader are the best in the line....Vader is so SICK!

I understand that for the most part we're grown men (and women) who collect for all intents and purposes toys-- but please try to maintain a little bit of maturity when expressing disappointment.

It's a shame about the price. I would've liked to maybe jump into this line but when these prices rival (past) PF's that'll be a no go for launch from me.
