Agree, all those people who talk ____ about flipper will sell their statue with retail price?? NO!!! So stop talk about how you hate people doing that !! I don't mind buy statue with market price cause that is the way collection should be.

I always thought that it was implied to take everything you see posted here in stride. People hype a lot of things either because of genuine excitement or to add value to their collection (elite, exclusive or fail, etc.).

It's not to be taken that seriously. Just buy what you like.

I've never sold a statue but know people who have. With the recent economy hit so hard, I also know a few who sold their statues to bail themselves out of a bad spot to provide and feed their family and children. I do not think that's so wrong, and applaud Sideshow making that possible.

Long live the well made exclusives and set edition pieces as the bread and butter of Sideshow's niche in the collectible market.

All that said, I hope this Galactus comes out with no paint problems. That shiny effect leaves room for paint errors. It really is a nice looking piece and at a nice size.

The overspray could be the most worrying part, and it looks like they splattered him everywhere with cosmic crap which give them the same amount of room as the 'battle damaged' version if it doesn't come out pristine tho'.

I have no ex skaar, so I can never be an elite. :(:(:( now I'm just a normal collector.

It's only money? Though I can't believe that people are asking $900 for it? Personally it's a little ridiculous given that it just got release. At best it should be $600. I guess it's a flipper world still.

There is no difference from being a "normal" collector and an "elite" collector. It's just a tag line started from some peeps here. Congrats on your Skaar when you get him regardless if it's a reg or ex.

From Mamba over @ Statue Forum talking about a light-up feature for eyes and chest

If they did the light up eyes, why on earth would they put that god awful overspray around Galactus eyes? Just imagine if Iron Man or War Machine maquettes had that overspray? It would look ridiculous. I just don't understand the development team of SSC when they decide to do this & Ultron with the overspray around its eyes. :gah:

There is a difference sadly. Let's be honest those bragging of being elite, are perhaps more affluent than the average collector. The flip side of that is them bragging about that fact every other post of theirs suggest they have low self esteem and are hung like a door mouse.

Ok, this is the only one pic I took when Sideshow's guy showed me this statue with a light up feature.

The problem is the room was so bright, even in person the light up chest and eyes don't look too visible. My camera couldn't capture the lights.

But if you look closely to this pic, the eye and chest are more purple.

Sorry guys I wish I have a better pic to share, but I saw the light up feature with my own 4 eyes (w/glasses :)). You just have to take my words for it :lol

This indeed will have an open ES, I confirmed it with them at the booth.

As you guys may know I hate open ES. I wish they have ES set for this guy, in fact I cancelled my order because of this.

However, after seeing this gorgeous statue in person, I HAVE to get this. Soon or later I will re-order him back.

Size wise, he can compete with other LSFs, yes he is smaller but he looks decent if you display him with other LSFs.

He looks to be in the same size (not scale) as Wolf Predator LSF and Neytiri LSF, which to me they have a better size than LSFs. I don't think they would be too big if I display them with my PFs.

For $800 this thing is a bargain for his size and detail, seriously I looked at wolverine LSF that was displayed next to him, I went hmmm $2K for this and $800 for this??? Yes, wolverine is bigger but either he is overpriced or Galactus is underpriced, these 2 pieces should not have $1200 price difference.

Like I said him, Wolf predator and Neytiri to me they 3 appear to be in about the same size (not scale).

Neytiri: $1600
Wolf Predator: $2000
Galactus Maquette: $800

Hello Sideshow??? :huh

Yes, they are. Perplexing. Why would Sideshow keep that a secret? Is it currently only in the prototype, and they haven't finalized the decision to put it in the production run?

Because the guy told me they are still testing it, but MOST LIKELY will go with it. So it's not a guarantee yet.

I spoke with that guy behind the doom :D (I was not in that pic)

Ordered...what the hell...

It will be my only piece of this size and the price is not too awful.

Doom would be my must have LSF, but I have the PF and do not want to collect LSFs because they are too big and costly for me...

Went with Galactus as it will be my Centerpiece. Hopefully they announce some sort of edition size.
