Seems like dioder is the favorite choice. Any of you guys have more pics of your lit up defiled you can share? I'm still trying to decide how I'd like to have mine set up. And is the best place to buy them straight from ikea?

This is cheap and cool.

Alright... That shortround collection looks amazing displayed like that. I wonder if anyone has a similar setup using the dioder pucks for comparison. Maybe even with 2 pucks per shelf?

Those are what I use in my detolf, I have the muliticolored ones. I only have one per shelf though. Two per shelf would look much better, just can't afford it right now:lol

From the photos by Toylion and Keysta with the dioder strip lighting, I take it you just stick the strip to the bottom of each glass shelf? For some reason I thought they would be stuck to the sides of the cabinet, not the shelves themselves?

I'm just worried about what you would do if you needed to remove or move a shelf and it had the dioder attached and all the wiring. Probably not a big deal.

So is that pretty much it? Stick them to the front of the shelves and run the wires down the sides?

:exactly: Just use some zip ties to keep the wires in place. The Dioder come with double stick tape.

How do dioder lights last? Can you just leave them on continuously?

Ikea Dioder 4-piece light strip set
Transformer electronic, fixed plug-in.
Mounting screws and double-sided tape included.
Cord length from plug to transformer 3.5 yds, from transformer to lamp 3.5 yds.
Energy consumption: 3.4W.
Built-in LED light source.
LED life time approx. 20,000 hours.
Light color; warm white (2700 Kelvin).

Close to 4 years of burn. I leave mine on constantly. I only have 5 detolfs though, so I figure at $30ea its only a $150 investment every 4 years.

Short Rounds look absolutely incredible. I wish I would have tried that. However, I ran my wires from the top and used my helmet collection to hide the power packs that sit on the top of my cases. I also used the same color oak corner trim that my Detolfs are to hide the wires in the back of the case.

Thanks for all the dioder info! I'm going to load up on detolfs and those dioder lights if I can get to an ikea!

And nice! The only thing I'd change for your collection and Short Rounds is to raise the detolfs a bit. The bottom shelf is just too low to admire easily. I'm not sure how tall the detolfs are, but judging by the figures, it's definitely not 6' tall. Maybe... 5'?

You guy have to check out Shortrounds set up. I see it it in person and it magnificent. Looks like a show room display. And he has the wires all neatly tied and running down the side and out the bottom.

That's certainly a fantastic collection. My only suggestion would be to pose the figures in a more dynamic manner! They all look a bit too upright and static. Each to their own I guess, but with the quality of cabinets and lighting, the only thing missing for me are awesome poses!

Can anyone confirm if the $30 Ikea dioder white lights are now warm light instead of cool light? I went to Ikea today and their sample dioder on display definitely has a yellow tint now. I know they have a cheaper $13 version that has a yellow tint and a weaker light source, but looks like the more expensive $30 version also has a yellow tint now.. Is there anyone who bought dioder recently can make a comment on this?

I recently grabbed (this past Saturday) the multi and the white from Ikea Orlando and my white does not have a yellow tint to it.

Got two sets of Dioder strips coming Tuesday, can wait to finally light up my cases properly.

Toys will fade naturally with age anyway, LED lights aren't going to increase that rate by much imo.

Very nice for the lighting! I did the same thing! or can I get the suit of bruce wayne!? I can not find it on ebay ...

I present my Detolfs also at the same time!:):)
