Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Just finished watched T2 to refresh my memory and figured I'd create a list of what would be required to make the ultimate BD T800. I'm putting this in here as I think it's more likely Hot Toys will include the most with their version seeing as Enterbays being at 1/4 scale is gong to be expensive enough as it is.

Ok to start off with is the end of the Cyberdyne scene;

Partially BD headsculpt
Partially BD upper body/T-Shirt & Jacket
BD to left knee
BD gloves

Steelmill scene;

Fully BD headsculpt (hopefully with a LED right eye but that may be pushing things)
Fully BD upper body/T-Shirt
Separate BD left arm
Same level of BD to left knee and gloves

Accessories needed would be would be;

Pistol
M79 Grenade Launcher
Gas Launcher (not sure of the specific name but it's used after he's got BD at the end of the Cyberdyne scene)
Steel pipe

*feel free to add your own suggestions to the list as I'm sure some Terminator experts will see some glaring omissions

Looking through that list I guess really Hot Toys could really provide it all without any problems, the varying levels of BD to the upper body could be a problem but if it is I doubt anyone going to throw a hissy fit if they did just provided him with one level of BD to that area (they could do both just by providing two different T-Shirts). They've done removable arms with at least 2 Ironman figures so there shouldn't be any problem doing the BD left arm I wouldn't have thought either.

Anyway just wanted to put my thoughts down on paper so to speak :)

:goodpost:

I would be happy enough with one state of BD for the chest but yeah you make a good point that a slightly less torn up T-shirt over the full BD body would be enough to recreate the partial BD state after the SWAT shootout. I don't think HT will bother providing a full-BD T-shirt and a partial BD one though. Which is fine because it would be doable oneself using an MMS117 one.

The knee damage - I don't think he sustained that until he jumped off the sliding liquid nitrogen tanker but again, you could have the endo knee simply hidden by untorn trousers if you wanted to display a SWAT shootout T-800.

Who gives a ____ about a semi-torn shirt or a damaged knee being there when it's not supposed to be? I'm compulsive and OCD with the variations, sure, but that's pushing it.

A SWAT shootout can have the same damaged knee and damage to the shirt as the Steel Mill as long as it has an arm and a semi-damaged headsculpt. That's key really, the head, arm and jacket. Oh and the gas grenade launcher.

Hot Toy's FINAL Uncle Bob should consist of the following,

- Semi Battle Damaged head
- Full Battle Damaged headsculpt with light up eye

- Bullet damaged jacket with sleeve
- Damaged jacket with missing sleeve
- Gray shirt with exposed chest (new torso)
- Pants with exposed left knee (new leg)
- pants w/belt

- Removable arm
- Endo stump
- BD Gloved Hands (thumbs up hand included)

- MM 1 Smoke Grenade Launcher
- Machine gun (one he uses to riddle the T-1000 with bullets)
- Grenade launcher with broken wooden stock
- Bandolier with a few grenades

Maybe a metal Steel Mill Rod and an appropriate steel mill grating base.

Here's a point of reference. These, obviously done by Hot Toys,

That's it. Anything less is bull____. That would at least make this DX 10 feel legitimate. MMS 117 (Bar/Pescadero/Dyson's), DX 10 (Garage/Desert/Cyberdyne), and the final BD figure (SWAT Shootout/Freeway Pursuit/Steel Mill).

Well **** you then! :wink1: I would be interested in doing a SWAT shootout variant as I bought a bunch of HT SWAT figures to recreate that very scene.

Seriously your list is great, though I would elevate the steel rod from 'maybe' to 'definitely'. I'm sick of that fairly significant Steel Mill prop being overlooked.

If they were to include the steel mill rod I wouldn't even use it with the T-800.

It would go right to my Steel Mill T-1000. That would be cool as hell if Hot Toys devised a way to have a hole in the back of a Steel Mill T-800 figures back, you know, in the jacket and true type. Think the '89 Batman cape.

Then have a grated steel mill display, sort of like Sarah Connor/T-1000 and man, that would be great.

That'll be the pose I'll be aiming to do :yess:

Is it just me or is the sculpt from the original T-2 T-800 better than this new DX sculpt? There are lots of angles that don't look much like Arnie, especially from below.

Yeah, I remember thinking the same thing the first time I saw the movie. They came over to help because they thought some weirdo was giving him trouble...

And then he repays them by mouthing off, little punk :pfft:

If this figure was like that on the left, there would be so many more pleased fans

Why have you become so lazy HT? :dunno

I'm still holding out hope that the BD version is coming next. If they did a BD version of T2 and then a police shoot out version from T1, I would be a very happy camper.

it says this is coming out 3rd quarter. does that mean around the fall? like september/october? i cannot WAIT for this guy! this is the T2 figure ive wanted all along! i had the original HT T2 figure but i sold it last year. but now im glad because they are comin out with an even more wicked DX version with all the weapons and gear, and of course the awsome PERS which i LOVE. im glad the DX is coming with the sunglasses and rifle from the first release, i was afraid they wouldnt include them. this is definetly going to be the end all T2 that ive been hopeing they would do. as awsome as a BD version would proabably look, this is prett much the only one i want.

True. You still need to acquire the black shirt though if you want to represent his look from earlier in the film when he wears the sunglasses. However getting a black shirt seperately won't be hard to do at all.

Just go to your local hobby shop and buy a rod(they're used in RC planes). You can get them in brass or plastic, then paint it.

No kidding. Hot Toys has to step up their game for this one because of Enterbay's competition. There's still a lot of room for improvements.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Hi guys.

I had too much time this afternoon and created a petition.

Can be useful or not, but if we just keep complaining and do not start asking HT to communicate with us nothing will change.

I would like them to include at least an additional head into the DX10 package! ;)

Please subscribe, perhaps it will move something...

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Too stupid? ;)

No not stupid but I don't think HT's cares like they used to. There was word that they used to come here and read feedback. Maybe they still do but I really don't see how a petition will change anything.

Nobody is forcing you to buy it at the end of the day.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Yes I know.
But the stupid thing is:
I WANNA BUY! ;)

After all I think HT got so much attention aaand money in the last years from us collectors so they should start to communicate with us in a normal way.

That what is happening now under the label of "communication" with them is... ridiculous!?!

It never hurts to try. The worst thing that could happen is nothing. So why not try? :)

For me if they do a full out BD version with the damaged heads, chest and some metal body parts showing then I would be fine with that. I'd rather see them go all out with a BD version then to do it half a__ed with this one.
