I disagree. I think there will be four versions. The next one will be the BD T-800. And the final one will be the T-800 inside the melting metal pool. That figure will come with a thumbs up hand and a pulley to get arnold down :wink1:

I'll stop at the BD version then. Unless they include the tear coming down Arnie's face. That will be an instand buy for me then. :lol

I think I will pass on this version and just buy the weaponry to add to my current T-800. Besides I like the head sculpt of my original better. It is only a matter of time before HT comes out with a BD version.

Arnie never has a tear coming down his face. The terminator can't cry. He wipes JC's face when he cries.

Yeah. It is something he can never do.

Boom! :D

Theres got to be something keeping his human eyeballs moist so I'm sure he has tearducts...maybe he just can't activate them beyond that purpose to actually cause tears to flow. No pain or emotions to trigger it. And thank god they didn't put in that 'Are you afraid?' 'yes' dialogue. Then I'd be in with the T1 purists too.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I know right. "Are you afraid?" "yes"

I'd have thrown the trigger at him if I was Sarah.

While saying "Don't be such a sissy Terminatuh!"

Seriously though what I like about the ending as it is is that it leaves the Terminator as only capable of objectively observing and understanding what triggers particular human emotions but not being able to feel those emotions himself...the line ''its something I can never do'' isn't meant to literally refer only to crying but to human feeling generally.

To me the T2 T-800 is thus compatible with the T1 version.

Umm...I like the thumbs up?

Hardcore T1 fans would say it's the best part of the movie... :lol

Yes I know. I was being a wise a__ about HT giving extra accessories for variations. :)

To me, the differences between the two are noticeable from the first scenes they experience in the "modern" world. One Terminator wantonly kills, the other doesn't. Yeah, you could argue that the T2 version didn't need to kill, but neither did T1 necessarily. But he did. Because he's an evil robot. T2 Terminator never felt threatening at any point in that movie beyond the first part of his first scene to me, and I think that was an intentional decision by Cameron, who gave the character levity by playing that "Bad to the Bone" song toward the end of the bar scene, among other subtle decisions.

Just a different kind of movie, and also a different kind of character.

I never had an issue with the T2 terminator. He's a machine. Machines can be reprogrammed and in his case, he's required to follow orders which were specifically "Promise me you won't kill anyone. Swear."

His priority at the beginning of the movie was to find Connor as quickly as possible in order to protect him. This took priority over taking time to kill people.

So, that really doesn't make him any different than the T1 T-800.

I look on it as he simply didn't happen to kill anyone before finding John. Nothing more than happenstance. We know he was willing to kill when he pulled the gun on the 'jocks' and John had to stop him. Within the movie you can rationalise it.

Outside of the movie yes I'm sure it was intended that he not actually get to kill anyone.

In theory, yes, but that character had lost most of his edge by that point, and I don't think anyone in the theater thought there was a real chance he would kill a guy in cold blood.

Jon Connor was such a little jerk. Those guys were just asking him if he was okay.

OK. Thats audience perception though. I'm happy enough with the in-movie context being workable which I feel it is.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Just finished watched T2 to refresh my memory and figured I'd create a list of what would be required to make the ultimate BD T800. I'm putting this in here as I think it's more likely Hot Toys will include the most with their version seeing as Enterbays being at 1/4 scale is gong to be expensive enough as it is.

Ok to start off with is the end of the Cyberdyne scene;

Partially BD headsculpt
Partially BD upper body/T-Shirt & Jacket
BD to left knee
BD gloves

Steelmill scene;

Fully BD headsculpt (hopefully with a LED right eye but that may be pushing things)
Fully BD upper body/T-Shirt
Separate BD left arm
Same level of BD to left knee and gloves

Accessories needed would be would be;

Pistol
M79 Grenade Launcher
Gas Launcher (not sure of the specific name but it's used after he's got BD at the end of the Cyberdyne scene)
Steel pipe

*feel free to add your own suggestions to the list as I'm sure some Terminator experts will see some glaring omissions

Looking through that list I guess really Hot Toys could really provide it all without any problems, the varying levels of BD to the upper body could be a problem but if it is I doubt anyone going to throw a hissy fit if they did just provided him with one level of BD to that area (they could do both just by providing two different T-Shirts). They've done removable arms with at least 2 Ironman figures so there shouldn't be any problem doing the BD left arm I wouldn't have thought either.

Anyway just wanted to put my thoughts down on paper so to speak :)

Yeah, I remember thinking the same thing the first time I saw the movie. They came over to help because they thought some weirdo was giving him trouble...
