Canceled my figure yesterday. I can't really afford to pick this up anyway and seeing slight problems just pushed me into canceling. Hope somebody who wants this one more gets their order now.
Same here. Have so much on my plate right now. Just paid for Todd and Spidey. Next on the list is Mk V, then DX Jack, then CR Supes; well, it goes on and on. Was a difficult decision but yes, all this news about the rubber issues made it easier to cancel it.

It depends on what makes a figure "important." I don't think there will ever be as giant an evolutionary cinematic leap for Batman as what we saw in 1989. By the same token its quite dated in tone and scope today. For that reason I think the Nolan Batman will be considered the "definitive" cinematic representation of the character going forward.

ah, well if it's not solved by then it never will. I think HT's will only change when there's a lot having problems. A few, here and there, are likely considered glitches.

I know more people who think the Nolan movies are dark than the Burton movies are dated. Burton kept it dark and light, which was an amazing task. The non-Burton ones took it back to 60's camp and then Nolan brought it to another extreme. Would be happy for something in the middle again. I watch CSI for police procedurals; don't need my Batman like that.
Semantics cannot win this one. The most likely one and only (and thus definitive) Batman figure from a nostalgic touchstone film is undoubtedly more important than the 5th or 6th Batman figure released from a current series. The TDKR figure will most likely look a lot like the DX2 TDK figure. And we already have a gazillion Nolan/Bale Batman figures. The Keaton Bats fig wins this debate, without question.
You should know all about placing importance on items from nostalgic touchstone movies over current ones... as you still happily give George Lucas your hard earned money.
Besides, the Nolan Batflicks may be considered the "definitive" ones by some now... but there is absolutely no guarantee they won't be de-throned by the next iteration of films, which could even be closer to the look/tone of the source material. Or they could be total crap. You never know. But we do know a Keaton Bats figure has been long-awaited by many and this may be our one shot to get a definitive 1:6 representation. And HT will probably make 17 different TDKR Batman figures anyway. So... No contest: HT 1989 Keaton Bats >>>> HT 2012 Bale Bats in "importance".

Ah, you were talking about TDKR specifically vs. the one and only Keaton figure. I see. I thought you just meant Keaton vs. Bale. Nostalgia is a funny thing. I always remember 1989 Batman (the movie) to be better than it is and BB and TDK to be worse, then when I catch a few minutes of one of them on TV I inevitably think "boy this is really just silly" (89 Bats) or "damn, this really is a great movie" (BB and TDK.) Its still cool to have either option available for viewing, depending on my mood.

Not passing on TESB Fett. That's one of the figures I've always wanted to see Sideshow tackle properly. I'll get one... but from a retailer for the best possible price. Well said, there's definitely the chance of another director picking up Batman and surpassing the success of Nolan's movies. But, unlike Nolan's Batman, which is relatively young and unproven, 89 Batman has stood the test of time, and is still being regarded in high esteem.
