then do what i did and order it thru fred. i was quite upset initially when i found out that shioktoys (i assume that's the same shop you're talking about) would be offering the bust for preorder and for much cheaper (fred's shipping via fedex to malaysia costs a bomb). but fred told me that no retailer outside of sideshow in the us would be allowed to sell this. looks like it's true after all.

as for fred's personal response to the criticisms here... wow, the man sounds pretty upset. :medic

i buy most of his explanations... except the one about the face. the paintwork there is not "more realistic", it is just sloppy, period. sorry, fred. there's nothing realistic about having spots of flesh-coloured paint on the black jawguard, and spots of black paint on the edges of the face. unless it's an artistic interpretation to depict murphy like the melting toxic waste emil. :monkey3

hi
ya, same shop!!
I think the shop can offer lower is because of the shipping fee. As the item price is same as fred's offered. The only thing is toyshop ship items in bulk so that the avg shipping fee is lower.
So, meant u have placed order from fred? How much is the total cost including shipping?

kkchan: yes, i know how retailers save on shipping costs. that's why i was annoyed previously. but since it looks like shioktoys will not be able to sell it, that doesn't matter anymore.

yes, i ordered from fred, and gotten mine already. u can check out my review and pics a few pages ago.

btw, sent u a pm...

So a couple of weeks past after i recieved my Robocop 1:1 bust and i wanted to share my opinion.

This piece is absolutely incredible. It's easily one of my very favorite pieces. The paint job on the suit is incredible. I love looking at it in different lighting situations. Regardless of lighting situation it literally and figuratively shines. Mine came with little to no flaws. Is there a ever-so-slight barely noticable dip in the helmet YES, but it's supposed to be like that as THX and others have shown....and to be honest i DO NOT NOTICE IT, and have to nit-pick to see it. The face paint around the strap is not perfect but neither am I. The facial expression has really grown on me. It really does look like he's in the middle of saying something and dramiaticall adds to the realism of the piece. This piece DELIVERS at all viewing angles. Certain 1:1 bust i have looks great straight on and OK from other secondary angles...NOT this piece. The weight of the piece is NON-issue. I am incredibly happy i dedided to pull the trigger on the FANTASTIC representation of Murphy. Everytime i walk in my place and lay eyes on it i LOL, because i have yet another 1:1 bust of one of my all-time favorite characters looking me in the face everytime i enter my dwelling. If anyone's on the fence, and he is one of your A-List characters, i highly suggest purchasing this beautiful high-end representation of Robocop...you will not regret it. $850 well spent as far as im concerned.

The only negative thing i will say is i'm not a fan of the pack materials provided by Fred. Fred literally packed the hell outta mine and arrived in flawless condition, but it was packed tightly with packing peanuts, bubble wrap, cling wrap and other protective packing materials. I am worried when i pack this baby up and move because it's goint to take me 15-30 minutes to securely pack this bad boy as he did. after seeing the individual pack job Fred offered, it makes sense why the orders were delayed. It must've been hell hand packing all of these with care. I will bet the far Sideshow WILL NOT ship the bust with similar packing materials, and i would love to obtain a sideshow box with fitted styro to easily and more safely secure my bust.

Don't think...be like Robocop...pull the trigger :)

So glad to hear it Bezzerker! I'm happy that a few weeks later after all the dust has settled, your feelings for the bust have grown.

My favorite line from your postis "Everytime i walk in my place and lay eyes on it i LOL"

I can't tell you how many times I see certain figures/statues and LOL at how awesome they are.

:lol

I was a little worried about the WARP fiasco, but after that has been cleared up i feel much better about the piece. Weeks later I still :lol to myself and my lady says, "what the are you laughing at". Then i reply, "Murphy my dear, Murphy".

Only certain piece get me to :lol out of pureawesomeness, and this is def one of them...THE FEW, THE PROUD.

Just got charged the remainder of the money for my Robocop bust :) Not sure when it will arrive but either this week or early next I would have thought. Pics and video will follow. For those with one on order in the UK it cost...

$425 deposit of 50% (£287.55 including £20 bank transfer fee)
$767.09 remainder and $312 postage (£491.73)

A total of £779.28 and there will be VAT of 20% (£106.25) and possibly customs on top so I estimate £900 all in which is $1,440.

With the Optimus Maquette and the Joker bust soon to arrive looks like I need to get selling :(

congrats on getting yours, bezzerkerr! glad u love the piece too. :clap

btw, a slight QC issue popped up on my piece about a few weeks after owning it. the black plastic strip that forms the visor came loose on the left side. it probably wasn't glued to the helmet properly. i can fix it easily. but just an indication that the busts may have been rushed out to meet production demands. just wanted to share this with u guys...

Good deal amazeing! But why was the remainder $767.09 (plus postage, VAT etc...)? Shouldn't it be an additional $425 plus everything else?

And tyler, thanks for letting us know on the slight QC issue.
