Josh, it's about time! :impatient: Whether you realize it or not you are our eyes and ears at SDCC. What LOTR rumours or news do you have to report? Have you been able to sneak behind the curtains of the SS pavilion....and was the RWOS there?....so many questions. :)

Oh, and I never get sick of seeing pic's of the Snow Troll :clap

Yeah, I know. I feel bad I haven't been able to jump on yet. I've been running around setting up projects for future stuff for the Collecting the Precious. Plus night activities so its been nuts. No PF's here at all just the maquettes. They look great together! I took a group shot I will post in a second.

Now that's what I'm talking about....:clap That Snow Troll fits in very nicely with those maquettes.....speaking of which, can you at least find out if SS has any maquette sneak peeks/news planned during SDCC?

The group shot looks awesome. I love it anyways. The Troll fits great I think as well. I will give it a shot.

As impressive a large scale beast as I've seen in any LOTR line. He's very detailed from head to toe.

You do realize that those who are trying to resist this magnificent beast are going to hate you for saying that......:lol

Josh, any other maquette news? Also, is the Snow Troll officially part of the maquette line or it kind of a stand alone piece?

(I'm asking because of the different base).

Thats ok. :lol I've been hated on here for worse. :lol

Its really impressive in both size and detail. I love it I really do.

Nothing new other than seeing the stuff thats been announced. Yes, the Troll is apart of the line based on both the snow troll race and the video game conception.

As Josh said, it's based on the upcoming video game 'War In The North'. It is not a part of the maquette line, as the lack of a maquette-style base would indicate, though it is pure polystone like the maquettes. According to Andy B. it is 1/8 scale and a bit larger than the SSW Cave Troll statue. If all goes according to plan it will not be a stand alone piece, it will be the first of many new LOTR pieces based on the game.

Yeah, I know it's based on that game. First of many huh?

I may skip on this one, and just order Arwen. Kinda wanna stick with the movie pieces. I do like the way it looks though...

I think alot of people feel that way, though I have a feeling those who collect game-related statues are going to pick up the slack on this one rather nicely. I was a bit leery about this line initially, but quality art is quality art and it helped to know that the Weta CT was the inspiration behind this piece......and if what I've seen from the trailers of this game so far it appears Weta was the design inspiration behind most if not all the creatures found in the game.

:rotfl

Don't worry Josh. I don't hate you. Just woodsy :lol. I think he's just jealous of those of us with at least a small amount of will power left, who are able, however difficult it may be, to resist the overwhelming urge to order this beast. But resist it we shall!

And (back to reality :lol), the news that this will be the first in a line of statues based on the game only makes resisting that much easier. I'm not really interested in a game-based collection when there are still so many movie-related pieces I want to see made.
