okay, for those of you that have seen this beast - how does it fit with the rest of the statues. Is it obvious they are all from the same set of stories, does he belong next to gandalf or legolas or is this a one-of piece; set it by itself to be appreciated.

The are two things that are turning me off, the dwarf needs to be polished up and not just an interpretation of Gimli and I don't like that it does not have a matching base as the others do. Small nitpicks, I know.

Although it is approx. 1/8 scale I'd say it would probably go best alongside the 1/6 scale maquette line, much in the same way people display their SSW Cave Troll alongside their SSW 1/6 scale statues. Although one could argue that since this is the first staute of a completely new line you could just display it by itself....either way, it's still going to look awesome. :lecture

Those are the things making me happy, that I will be saving a bit of money by not ordering allowing me to grow the maquette line proper.
Keep 'em coming, boys. I feel my resolve growing again. Saving money for the rest of the line is good. :)

call it OCD or whatever, but I love the fact the maquettes have a uniform base and I have big plans for a display and if the base doesn't match (along w/ the fact it is from a video game) I think I will be able to resist.

When the Snow Troll is long gone and no longer within your grasp, you guys will all look back at this dark time and say..."what was I thinking!" :slap :lecture :wink1:

I'm going to get up on this sucker tomorrow and take lots of shots, especially of the Hobbit, err, Dwarf. Screw what others want to see, I'm going to take tons of photos of the lines I am collecting and post up on Monday/Tuesday...

I'm not sold on that dwarf. Well, in reality, I'm poor. :(

If you're gonna snap some pics, try and get a straight-on shot so we can get a good size comparison with the maquettes. And if you have a chance, ask if the dwarf is removeable. -Thanks ! :duff

Anything is removable with a dremel tool and a steady hand. :lecture I could be wrong, but I think based on the WIP and final product pic's below it looks like the Dwarf was as afterthought....
