Thanks GungFu! I just ordered a pair of the yellow Mexico 66 one :)

Do you know of a maker of a quality yellow jumpsuit that is definitive? I'd like to get one to wear at home and while working out.

Its a brave man that would go out in the GoD jumpsuit on a day other than Halloween.

Hey if they work for you, that's great!
Just letting others know that shoe technology has improved hugely since 1970...while most expensive running shoes are over designed their soles are far superior for support and structure.

'Barefoot running' is becoming popular which is a return to almost no so sole and the Onitsuka Tiger Tai Chi model have some popularity for this.

I like the Terra Plana Vivo Barefoot Evo (and Neo) barefoot running shoes - which awesomely are available in 'Game of Death-like' black and yellow cominations :)

(I use to be a fitness consultant and personal trainer)

Thats cool, im by no means a huge fitness guy. Just go running now and again around the football pitch at my cousins sports centre to try and work on my cv. The only other "fitness" i do is Jeet Kune Do. But yeah, they work for me and are comfy, as for how well they'll hold up while training i dunno, as i didnt used to wear them for training.
Thanks again for the tips though.

Hey Gung Fu, do you have any pics of Bruce wearing the white with blue and red stripes Onitsuka Tigers? I've only ever seen him in the yellow ones.

Yes, of course I do

But let me get back to you guys with those pictures tomorrow as I need to hit the sack now. (I am not sure if my posts are readable and making sense as I am seeing double... It has been a long day... Plus I am distracted by a music video with bikini girl on TV… Haha...)

By the way SAB, I might be wrong here but I think that the Tai Chi slim sole shoes where only worn by Uma Thurma in Kill Bill - as I think Bruce's sole where thicker... but again I might be wrong here...

He definitely wore the Tai Chi model. Its the martial arts version that is easier to pivot on. Check the pics, you can see how thin the sole is.

I wasted way too much time in the pre-internet years trying to figure it out :D

Also, check Onitsuka Tiger's official website (here is the Oz one)
https://www.onitsukatiger.com/en-au/collection/product/Tai-Chi-HL301-0190?gender=56
Its pretty funny, they obviously don't have license from the Lee estate (though I can't see them getting sued for the truth) but instead for years they have referenced:

It was also an important element of the Jeet Kune Do teachings of legendary martial artists.

hmmm :)

Haha, thats weird. You think they're not allowed to say "bruce lee wore these?" But again, thanks for the info. I always thought it was the mexico 66's Bruce wore.

Cool, look forward to seeing them. Thanks for the info/chat. Later dude.

The other pair - I DO remember seeing him wearing a different pair of Onitsuka's somewhere. He wore them with a red jumpsuit with white stripes. Is that the non-yellow pair you're talking about?

Tinister, you should have waited as there are so many different styles and there are changes made over the years

As mentioned in an earlier post he also wore the white with blue and red stripes with the yellow and black striped G.O.D. track suit (though he only wears the yellow with black striped shoes in the actual movie footage) - plus he is also bear footed with the G.O.D. track suit in some pictures on the set (meeting the press day and taking promo shots for G.O.D.).

During the filming of "Enter the Dragon" he used to wear the white with blue and red stripes that I know of, and in Longstreet as you are referring to when he is wearing a red jacket and pants with white stripes I think he is wearing blue with white stripes Onitsukas (help me out here SAB), and I think (if I recall right...) in another episode of Longstreet) he is wearing green coloured netsuke (forgot which colours the stripes was, but will check tomorrow)....

For non-movie related he used to wear the Onituska shoes privately and during a photo shoot of the Self-Defence pictures that was later used for the “Bruce Lee: Fighting Method Volume 1: Self Defence” book that was released after his death, plus there are some really nice sparring pictures of him and his student and personal friend Ted Wong (and others) in which he is wearing the Onitsuka Tiger shoes, plus some other more private photo (all these pictures I have mentioned where taken by photographer Linda Palmer - the late Sy Weintraub ex-wife who was one of the celebrity students Bruce trained privately, and who got Bruce some small roles in a few TV shows).

By the way SAB, I have seen your respons but I am too tired to respond... But as I said you might be right and I wrong, so let me check out the links (and a few photos) and we will find out

Peace out friends !!

Yeah, dammit, me too. I won't be picking this one up because I've blown my toy budget for the year, and there aren't any pre-orders I'd be willing to give up to make up the cash. I am beginning to wonder whether, for the same money, I made the right choice by going with the 2 MIS Bruces. Perhaps if I had gone with the GoD Bruce that I'd be wondering whether I should've got the two MIS Bruces instead. Too much Bruce win not enough cash :gah:

I hear ya LJ, same problem for most of us this year :lol

I decided to cancel a lot of other PO's though (Thor, Odin, DX Indy, 2 DX Sparrow's, Resident Evil Alice, Superman, and some other things I can't recall atm :lol) to try and give my collection a much needed focus and direction.

Otherwise, I just have too broad a spectrum of characters I have enjoyed over the years and there's no way to keep up financially at this point. I'm committing to the Bruce Lee collectibles from HT or EB, some SSC and HT Iron Man items, and a few other figures of martial arts influence mixed in (l Ignite Ninja's or Samurai's, Enterbay Donnie Yen's, etc).

The only piece that I haven't canceled yet that doesn't 'fit' my collection is the Thor PF that's due to release in Q4 :monkey1

At any rate, I'm taking the plunge on this GOD figure and I'm damn happy about it :rock

You're doing a pretty disciplined cull there YP, I wish I could look at my PO list and do the same. But I go down the list and I feel like I'd be giving up my first born :slap How 4n4l is this, I've got two Dragon Astronauts on PO, 1 to display and one to keep in the box simply because previous white suits have been known to discolour under very mild UV conditions. I never buy two of anything, but OC is a bugger.

Some aspects of this GoD release are a still a concern though. On the one hand we have Rory who scored big time with a perfect figure - but on the other, we have Gruff with some minor paint rubs, and also letter from a seller pointing out how poor the QC appears to be. I know if there is a fault it's simply a matter of returning it, but if it's widespread QC issues it kind of tarnishes the buy for me.

The other thing is that I really dig the smiling sculpt, but I'm still not convinced on the BD sculpt. Looks great from some angles, bug-eyed from other angles. I know that this can be the case with a lot of sculpts and likeness, including the DX04 to a degree, but at $220 I can live with it. $350 I'm not sure...

There are also unanswered questions about the durability of the body which will only be known over time. We already know it has its limitations for those who want to bust out some action poses. But that didn't stop me from loving Leonidas. :gah:

Lastly, I know I am being seduced by the beautiful, sexy box. IMO the issue with price for a lot of people is not that the kit isn't worth the money, but that most folks see the accessories as superfluous. I'm guessing that they only wanted a figure, not the whole kitchen sink, and they feel bummed for forking out the cash when they won't ever display the accessories. Me, I look at the package and think how well it has been presented, even though I know that if I buy it everything but the figure itself will all stay in the box. $350 for a figure and the warm feeling I get from having a beautiful box packed with stuff... I dunno.

Looks like it's back to plan A - pick up a smiling head sculpt, mod it onto my BL3.5 body and dressed in my custom GoD suit, and leave it at that. I'll have to let the pics posted by fellow freaks satiate my lust for the best GoD Bruce Lee currently available. No doubt it won't take long for the price to skyrocket even further beyond my budget, despite all the complaints we're hearing from ballistic fans. So my hope is for a HT version to be released once my PO condition has settled down in a year or so :lol

I hear ya LJ, especially when you lay it out like that. :wink1:

I'm going to pray that the GOD I get has no QC issues ofc, but I feel Enterbay will do the right thing if I have any issues as it seems they are doing the best they can to keep customers happy w/exchanges, etc. As for the body that's a good point, and something that was discussed a little than glossed over.

I must say that I'm surprised that you wouldn't/don't display the accessories though. :monkey1 Seeing that is the case I can't blame you for passing on the kit and going down the mod route, it's clearly the smart move and saves you money.

I'm sure HT will do a GOD figure down the line but I really hope they don't anytime soon, I'd rather see them continue with fresh ideas like the casual & suited Bruce. :D

at the risk of derailing this thread once again....I just found this site when looking a rare Bruce Lee pic.

For all of those that want full size GoD jumpsuit, EtD catsuits and a ton of other Bruce Lee stuff - including the 70s shirt on HT casual Bruce ha ha !

I've never ordered from them so can't vouch but its fun to have a look at, at least :)

A little off the topic in discussion however I would like to know this from members who have ordered from Enterbay (now or previously) How long does it normally take them to send you a confirmation of the preorder once payment has been cleared for it? Thanks in advance, I paid for the figure and EMS shipping to me via a paypal invoice they sent me, still awaiting any confirmation of it...'

BTW has Enterbay ever marked down the value of item when shipping it? I have requested for it however they havent really confirmed that they can do it nor have they said they cant... Marking down the value is very important for me. Indian Customs Officers get downright to asking straight for bribes if they deem a 'simple thing' like a 'toy' cost over $100... dont pay the bribe? They will damage the figure/item in front of you and say its a routine check if drugs were being smuggled within the figure/item thus insured for high value... Its a mess here, and having faced situations like this in my early days of collecting I ALWAYS ensure my 'toys' are marked down/below $100. (Also India has regulation to imports of Chinese Goods) I have no issues paying any amount of legitimate customs fees BUT I WONT PAY ANY BRIBES to feed the corruption which has engulfed us country in the bureaucratic level

wow, that's shocking!
Maybe when contacting Enterbay tell them that directly...

Well I've told them that, however I rummaged through some older mails I had exchanged during the beginning of the year regarding the figure and found one where they said they can mark down the value of the item... so Im kinda more in peace now. However I hope they remember the deal when shipping it.

Have there been any pics of the hand-painted eye BD head?

Not the big ugly eyes we've already seen?

If we haven't, it would be cool if EB gave us this painted head as shown in this prototype-

According to Bill from his 'weibo', the clothing & body are factory samples while the head shown is still a hand-painted prototype, there'll be slight variations once the 'eyeball system' is implemented, & becos of that, this set is gonna be the last time EB uses it's 'eyeball system' with Bruce.

easier on yourself if you just admit you're now an addict and buy this figure before it goes up to $700 :clap

Hey Axe, if I were you I'd have mentioned the mark down of the item in the 'special notes' section of the Paypal order. Bit of a learning curve, and it appears you may have done your learning the hard way. I'd be using the email they sent you, that agreed to the markdown, to reply to them, and make sure your order is noted to be marked down, with whatever other questions you have. Such as the question of email confirmation.

In any event Enterbay have been haphazard, of late, and may not confirm your order as a matter of course. Just because you may be used to confirmation on your orders through other companies, doesn't necessarily mean Enterbay will operate the same way. Not meaning to worry you further, just trying to let you know non-conformation isn't necessarily something to worry about. With all the emails, they will no doubt be getting from all the worried collectors at this time, confirmation emails may not be their top priority. Whether anyone thinks that is acceptable or not is besides the point.

On another point, if I'm correct, you mentioned earlier that you have paid for this purchase using a friends Paypal account. I would think they would send your item to his address. This may be a good thing in your circumstance. If your friend isn't in India, he'll be able to mark down the item before forwarding it on to you.
