Picked up the endo-head version this weekend.
Haven't got round to re-watching the film, but the bust itself is really sweet

The Blu-Ray has three disc, one digital copy, one director's cut and one theatrical cut.

:lol I must have been half asleep Friday night .............. I finally had a chance to pick it up and watch it. Sad thing is I watched the damn theatrical version instead of the directors cut :(

Oops.

Unreal picture and sound though, very impressed!

Let me know when you get a chance to see the Director's Cut of the film. The only difference i saw was the "boob" scene. Was there anything else that was added/different/extended??? Seemed to be the exact film minus the boobies.

T1 pops up out of the water when Connor and his team enter the Skynet lab (from the trailer).

Blair topless scene.

Extended scene of John Connor talking about his mother over the radio.

While MCG and the T:S writers can be blamed for departures from the T1-T2 storyline, the blame really falls upon T3. If they hadn't needed some way to justify a T3 that made sense with T2 basically stopping Judgement Day, then T:S never would have had the freedom to rewrite history.

Yeah they wouldn't have felt the need to continue from that chronological point. I've always felt they could easily have made a sequel to T2 set in the future war that merely depicted the events, as they happened unaffected by timeline changes, leading up to sending the Terminators to the present day. In other words just make a film about what Reese talks about in T1 and what Sarah talks about in the opening T2 narration. Silent Surfer's ideas about Kyle, John and the photograph are dead-on. They have to build up a relationship before John gives Kyle the photo otherwise Kyle would be utterly confused and suspicious of a strange man who gives a guy ''he doesn't know'' letching material of his mother...among other things that would contradict or spoil what Cameron layed out.

moon bloodgood is gorgeous and i adore her. but i really don't see what the big deal was about her topless scene. it did not add anything meaningful to the character development between marcus and blair. as it is, the theatrical version failed to establish a proper connection between them. so when blair risked her own life and broke allegiance to the human rebels, it didn't feel like marcus had earned such devotion. initially i thought the topless scene would be much longer, with some "intimate" dialogue between them fleshing out (no pun intended) their emotional bond. but as the dir cut reveals, no such luck. ultimately, the scene was a case of much ado about nothing by the great spin doctor mcG. he talked a great game before the film came out but simply could not deliver.

don't get me wrong. i still managed to enjoy t4 for what it was. but the sad thing is it had the potential to be great. the marcus character had a LOT of dramatic potential. i liked the concept of a guy who wanted to die but by being transformed into a machine he was essentially doomed to live forever. and the irony was by becoming a machine he re-discovered his lost humanity. i can see why they originally offered the role to christian bale. conceptually it's a pretty juicy role for an actor. too bad things didn't pan out they way should've...

If you watch T1 closely it's obvious that Reese didn't know he was John's father.

Sarah: "I don't suppose you know who the father is so I won't tell him to get lost when I meet him?"

Reese: "No. John never said much about him. I know he dies before the war..."

Sarah: "Wait. I don't want to know."

Reese's mission was to protect her. Connor gives him a message to give to her, made him memorize it.

"Thank you Sarah for your courage through the dark years... blah blah blah"

So it's very likely and feasible that Reese finds the photograph in John's coat pocket as a teenager, becomes attracted to this mysteriously beautiful woman, but does not really know who she is until nearly 10 years later when Connor sends him back through the time displacement on a mission to protect his mother.

Reese: "How will I know what she looks like?"
Connor: "The picture that was in the jacket I gave you, do you still have it?"
Reese: "Yes."
Connor: "That is her."

So without making a trumpeting melodramatic fanfare of it like something you would expect to see contrived in a Star Wars prequel, Reese is provided only the information he needs to know. It isn't until he succumbs to his passion for Sarah that he realizes that it is he of course who is the father all along.

Reese: "John Connor gave me a picture of you once. I never knew why at the time."

Well now he knows. Connor gave him the jacket with a mysterious photograph inside that he kept as a totem, gradually becoming infatuated by her visage until he is sent back through time to do his duty.

"I came across time for you Sarah. I love you. I always have."

This isn't Stiffler's mom. Reese doesn't have a MILF fetish going. John talked about his mom, how she taught him to prepare, going back was the chance to meet the legend, Sarah Connor, not some MILF he just happened to get a hard on for from a photograph he found in Connor's jacket. He slowly comes to realize her importance and his role over the years as his destiny unfolds.

In your earlier posts #57 and #60 you though for sure Reese knew he was Johns father that he realized it in the TIKI Motel. You change your view now?

Question for people who've watched the director's cut.

I'm thinking of buying the digital copy of it to see it until I get a BR player which isn't going to be anytime soon, is it worth having for $15 on top of already owning the regular DVD, or is it neat to see but I'm better off saving the money and just eventually getting the BR?

Naw man not for $15 bucks, cheaper than $15 yes. The reason being is that you can pick up the BR version at wal-mat for $20 which has the theatrical-cut, dir-cut, and digi-copy. Plus im sure all the other retailers will sell it for cheap for like x-mas/end-of-the-year sale.

That's what I am saying. He realizes it at the Tiki motel that HE'S the father of JC. You didn't read my posts correctly.

That's the same as the Best Buy mask here in the US. At least yours was the same price. Best Buy is charging $15 more for it.

Please explain to me how he could possibly come to that realization. The guy just had sex most likely for the first time in his life and your telling me a lightbulb goes off in his head with him coming to the conclusion "Hey I am John Connors father" I just don't get your rational. Kyle Reese NEVER knew he was JOHN'S FATHER... He died NEVER KNOWING.

READ WHAT YOU POSTED.... THE FIRST LINE OF WHAT YOU POSTED:

If you watch T1 closely it's obvious that Reese didn't know he was John's father.

To quote Christian Bale, "What don't you !@#%$#ing understand?"

He put 2 and 2 together and realized that HE was John's father. Simple biology.

He doesn't know it up UNTIL that moment at the Tiki motel.

I was always unsure wheter he knew or not. It works perfect though regardless of which way you look at it. The genius of Cameron.

:lecture QFT.

And it certainly can be interpreted both ways. Kyle was simply carrying out his mission to protect Sarah, but then having the sudden realization that the most important duty is to plant the seed of humanity's future I think is a stroke of narrative brilliance.

I don't think Reese knew he was the father. How would he know Sarah would get pregnant from their little love session, let alone, that the product of their union would be John? The guy was a virgin, likely didn't know much about sex never having seen a vagina before in his life, and in turn, wouldn't know that much about childbearing. :lol
