Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

i like HT`s new stands, the hooks on them,i never liked the old ones most people have around the figure`s upper body.I always had them around the figure`s 1 leg.

I never use the stand on any of my HT figures …just don’t like them.

My TDK was shipped from ABC express yesterday. :banana

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Yea but, didn't that cape come out of his backpack thing? so, i am guessing this is a "mission specific" cape.

Those are promotional pics with the BB Cape.

The display with the TDK film worn suit plus the official pics of the TDK suit show the shorter cape.

RattleRat that looks amazing, love the skin parts, looks so real! What make is that hospitalier looking knight in your shelf? Been looking for some of them and templars but havnt found any decent ones.

The black hospitalier knight is from Ignite.
The company that makes ninjas, roman soldiers and vikings.

I was going to say... but how far does the tips go... I can't see them, where as the Hot Toys tips looks very short but the rest goes down to the tip of the boots on the figure.

I can't find any decent pics showing the tips. They all seem to be like the above that give the impression its all even going down to the base of the boots.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

The only times you saw the cape BB size was when he was flying (which he did do other than the hong kong sequence) like when he jumped from the building with gordon into the building with joker and the hostages.

All other sequences with him they used a shorter cape (much like what HT gave him) for fight sequences and the batpod sequences obviously. Its intended to be the same cape, but with the new suit and most shots its a shorter slimmer version of it so it suits the more mobile suit, meaning its not getting in the way of him moving.

Your supposed to assume with movie magic that the small cape he's wearing still expands into the massive wings of the orignial BB cape.

Well that's the weird part. Almost every in-film pic or pic of the "actual" suit displayed in real life shows a square cut bottom for the cape. That pic Spliff posted has the tips but that's because it's the hang-glider BB cape. Other than that one scene I don't remember Batman using that in TDK with the new suit. There's pics of Batman interogating Joker (but they're small) and even in that scene you can see the cape is square cut. So I don't know.

That makes sense to me because imo the same goes for the mask/eyes. I've said before that, the Black eye make-up is suppose to be, again with movie magic and suspension of disbelief, part of the actual mask. It's NOT suppose to be Black eye make-up that Batman puts on before putting on his mask. Look at the scene after Rachel Dies, with Bruce sitting in a chair still wearing most of the TDK suit. He has the cowl in-hand.. no arm gauntlets or gloves. AND.. he's grieving. So what? He washed off the black eye make-up and THEN sat in a chair to grieve while holding the cowl!? I think the biggest piece of evidence that supports my theory is in Batman Begins where Alfred explains the intial design flaw of the front piece of the mask before smashing it with a hammer. You can see the eye area is almost just a slit.. not a big round area (like the mask when we see it plus the Black eye make-up).

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Just collected mine today. Beautiful. The only complaint I have is the damned clips for the cape.

Anyone has any tips on how to attach it properly? I think the clip is constructed in such a way that it slides forward to the chest area, but there's a groove at the back to clip it so it stays down. Can't seem to get that to happen.

Also something really tiny that I want to nitpick about is the fact that one of the blades from his gauntlets dropped off so I'll need to glue it back. Also, I think during assembly, someone put a blade of the wrong size because unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, one of them appears to be longer than the rest!

Here are some quick pics:

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

For the cape clips, I would suggest u to remove the chest armour and slide the clip in properly. As it is easier to see from underneath the armour how exactly does the clip goes in the groove.

Thanks - that involves a little snip snip on the armour? I saw some people who posted some pics who said that was the best way to remove the armour, by making a cut and gluing it back after that. I think this will be the last option for me.

Is it possible to remove the chest armour without any surgery? I might need to get a good look at it first before I do that :p

Thanks for the info though

Nah, I'm pretty sure Nolans batman puts the Make up on.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

There is no need to snip the chest armour. This pic by Snake sucker illustrates it very well https://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/The_Dark_Knight_photos/100_1347_640x480.jpg. It should come out with just a gentle push and you dont really have to glue it back, since there is a groove and it attaches back rather easily.

OK, thanks. It looks like its glued on mine and I didn't want to risk it.

I managed to slot in the clips. Had to push/move the chest armour around abit.
