Looks like September was right for Cloud then, assuming folks start getting invoiced within the next week or two. Funnily enough that also puts it in the right month for the 20th anniversary of Advent Children being revealed at TGS 2003.

Great memories of downloading a HQ version of this trailer from Kazaa and watching it hundreds of times over.

Yo that teaser…

When it was first revealed, I remembered reading somewhere that it was gonna be a 20-30 min short film. SE liked what they saw and asked the team to make it into a feature length film. It was awesome. Lots of stilted and constipated story telling…but the action was amazing and seeing the 7 crew in beautiful CG and voiced for the 1st time was a treat.

The action sequences set the tone and drove the direction of future FF and KH games.

Yeah, I remember the press for FFXIII being that the combat system was designed to look like an action sequence from AC, and you can make a very strong argument that XV and XVI are both still in that mindset. If you ask me though, the only one that's successfully captured AC's style whilst remaining what I would consider "proper" FF is 7R. IMO they have the best Action RPG combat system ever conceived with 7R, the flow of combat is so dynamic without feeling lacking in strategy.

Yeah FF7R definitely had that AC feel.

BUUUUUT…one thing that kinda bugged me and “exposed” the archaic level design from the original is…once you break the established rules and physics in AC and you got characters like Cloud and Tifa that can pretty much clear a 6 story building in a single leap or fall down 100’s of feet and land in a 3 point landing pose…

Some of the “drops” in the cinematic or stage design with text “if we fall down here, we’ll surely die” kinda feels…well, dated 😅

But those aren’t enough to detract from the overall experience. I just find it amusing that Cloud is essentially a Superman and a few drops in some levels should be considered child’s play for him.

I’ve yet to play 16. I’m a huge Devil May Cry fan and that game is Final May Cry 🤣…gotta find the time to go through it.

This is truly exceptional work by GT. Both figure and bike look incredible.

Having the game steadily being remade and having the opportunity to own collectibles of this quality, FF7 fans really are living the dream right now.

I've only recently gotten into collecting and I am sooo gutted I missed out on pre-ordering it, and paying monthly. It looks amazing!

I wonder whats that thing they are wiping on the silicon body on the review?
Blu-tack or sticky tac, the likes of it.

It's used to remove dust or other fine debris efficiently from silicone bodies. Alternative is to use a low tacky masking tape and just tape them all over the place to remove it.
