Yeah, it's ridiculous. But I've bought a few things from Secret Compass since I placed my order for this and I'm more than happy to give him my business for this and wait a while longer to get one. Hope Prime 1 have to pay him a nice big cut. They don't seem interested in sorting out their shipping costs.

Got my shipping notice. My shipping has gone up to $1650! I'm cancelling my direct order and re-ordering via Secret compass.

We're used to getting a crappy end of the stick here in the UK, but it boggles the mind as to why we're so much more expensive. Bare in mind that we pay 20% duty on top of the total cost also and that shipping cost in reality is $1980 which is just ludicrous.

Prime 1 really need to sort out the shipping costs.


Edit: For those wondering, Secret compass "estimate" shipping to be $450 to the UK. How can it be explained rationally that it's less than 1/3 the cost to ship it all the way to the USA and then to the UK, rather than direct to the UK?

Direct shipping for my Godzilla bust from Prime 1 to the UK was £900 and import tax £300. That killed my pockets!

That's why I just got the JH (limited closed mouth) and CH Predator busts. Shipping is £150 from Prime 1, along with both my Paul Atreides and Ripley I have on PO.

Now their showcase revealing LOTR Gandalf (with the Balrog) and AVP (Aliens Vs Predators) ... I gotta save money where I can. I'm also interested in the Alien Warrior to pair with Ripley, but not sure if the scale will work?

I would guess a ruthless greedy contracts from the manufacturer and carrier are all setup in advance. This are the times we live in unfortunately. But yeah UK was hit incredibly hard by Brexit/Covid/Inflation craze. Just got kitchen knives from the US straight to Europe snail post speed and 148$ knives became a 263 euros affair taking the expedited delivery the endeavor would surpass way beyond 300 euros mark...

Agreed.

For me, it's got to the point that there has to be something really special about a piece for me to take notice (and want to fork out THIS sort of money!)

The 1:3.5 BGCA piece has that style & presence - the pose is simply amazing - different league to this. The same is true of their 1:4 City Hunter and their 1:4 Sengoku (samurai) pieces.

For those that haven't got the 1:3 Cinemaquette, this is a no-brainer (except for the price, shipping, taxes/duties & possibly having to deal with PRIME1), but the pose is basically the same so it holds no interest for me. I also don't like the unmasked heads on the PRIME1 piece.
