Available in HK the day it was announced, but through Sideshow won't even ship until NEXT Comic Con or later?! That's ridiculous! So this is basically NEXT YEAR'S Toy Fair Exclusive, right? It's just another regular pre-order in the end. What's the point? Bad business.

I have to assume the 2023 is a typo... If not, I'm pretty happy I ordered from Hong Kong.

Don't really think getting heated over the release date is productive. For years now, these exclusives have been pretty much convention exclusives in name only through Sideshow. They are pretty much almost like regular releases.

They probably made enough for the actual conventions but are going to manufacture more for the other markets.

I understand it's not easy to wait for collectibles but if the tradeoff for everyone being able to get one through them is that the wait is longer, then so be it. I'm happier to see all the people who want it be able to get it without having to jump through hoops or pay a scalper.

We are very fortunate to just be able to order these online. Does anyone here want to go stand in line for hours for the chance at buying one at Secret Base? Do you want to put your name in a raffle and hope you get a winning ticket to be able to buy one at a convention?

Also no one should be panicking about whether their order will go through or be cancelled. There has not really been a case of a recent Toy Fair exclusive being such a hot seller that it necessitates that sort of policing over technical reasons. If your order is confirmed, it'll likely be just fine.

I am honestly surprised they weren't do so earlier. they seem to over-estimate demand, at least for past couple years

As soon as I read that comic I was already wanting HT to get busy on this, cant believe they actually did it.

That's how I feel about this figure overall. Personally can't see myself caring about an all black Boba Fett on my shelf for the long run after thinking it looks cool for a week.

FOMO is real.

I just feel like Sideshow sometimes tries to trick collectors with the FOMO mentality and then “oh what do you know we found more” and people’s waitlist reservations convert and months later the figure is still in stock after it releases.

The figure hasn’t been said to be truly limited and based on past releases I don’t see why this would be different. Either way I personally won’t get it, but it’s interesting to see how things unfold.

I'm surprised, yet also kinda NOT surprised to see this waitlisted so soon. When they said "limited time offer" evidently they were not joking.

Congratz to those of us who managed to score this absolute beast of a figure.

EDIT what really amazes me is that Arena is sold out, and there Iron Man is still up. Since when is it not IM uber alles? HT must really be scratching their heads over their Number One Son suddenly playing second fiddle.

I’ll probably be proven a fool in a couple days, but I could see this as having legitimately gone to waitlist. The chrome clone was waitlisted not long after Anaheim. Sideshow could be sick of having convention unexclusives sit for years in their warehouses. Order limits could be genuinely reduced. But this went so fast that I could see them working it out with HT to increase the batch. Glad I impulsively ordered Boba while I was picking up the IS Sauron for my X-men display - my real convention goal.
