I haven't opened the old smoothie but it feels great having him in the collection.

Looking forward to getting the young version from whenever that show happens.

Finally completed my Bespin Landos - hero display, battle pose and Chewy-choked pose. This was a super-quickie pic so the poses on the two customized figs aren't great (I'm also still only half done wiring the Sideshow cape, and the battle Lando still needs a little padding added to bulk him up slightly more.)

This is stock HT Lando on left, HT head + shirt with Sideshow "bell bottom" pants and Sideshow boots/belt in middle, and my old Sideshow figure with custom pants and belt (recast) with a recast head I painted (I'm not great with human head painting, but the head will be tilted more downward in the final pose.) The original SSC Bespin head I used on my no-helmet Skiff Lando. This last fig on the right is more of a "display accessory" that goes alongside my Chewy with 3PO backpack.

I may still cast the HT wrist communicator for my battle Lando, but it's kind of a pain to futz on the stock HT figure and not all that noticeable.

I will post some pics later with all the Bespin figs I have - Ugnaught, Leia Bespin Escape, Bespin Guard, Jeremy Bulloch Imperial officer plus the Chewy with 3PO. Just didn't have time today.

“What are you doing? Trust him! Trust him!” :lol

Haven't done anything more to these yet, these were just the quickie side-by-sides I took yesterday (I squashed flat the SSC bell-bottoms on standing Lando when I reposed him btw. :lol )

And yeah noisyrobot, the HT wrist communicator has a really nice chrome-like sheen that brings it to life (often looking lit up) and seems quite a bit bigger than the SSC version so reads a bit more (even though the SSC "popsickle" public address communicator is huge compared to the HT version.) Still may cast that HT one and paint it chrome, though lots of buttons to paint for not a ton of visibility. 😬)

In retrospect, the HT sneaky tease of a Leia Bespin Escape should have meant less because it really was just existing parts reused, whereas the Han Bespin they previewed in multiple pics with Leia Bespin involved several complex all-new parts that anyone would have safely assumed could only exist if the fig was coming as a release.

That being said, my custom Leia Bespin Escape always jumps at me in that Bespin cabinet - as an outfit (well, maybe "outfit variant") it's almost as iconic as Hoth and more so than Bespin (even though I adore the Bespin outfit) so crazy HT never did it. It just screams Bespin and ESB, maybe because she arguably does as much in the Escape outfit as in the Hoth outfit, certainly in the "kick-ass" dept.

Desperately need Bespin Leia as a convention exclusive.

... with 3PO backpack accessory. :lecture

Maybe Bespin will make an appearance in the Cassian series and we see the ESB heroes in the distance done in CGI, BTTF2 style - I have a feeling that's the only way will HT think about it, ie supported by some hot new media connection.

With SO many SW series coming and released, it just feels like the whole 1/6 SW landscape has changed suddenly and drastically, with a deluge of hot new SW characters supported by new media coverage.

While previously new SW releases (films, games, major comics) helped OT fig/merch releases - like when the PT came out - it now sort of feels like there's SOOOO much new material/characters, there's a severely narrowed bandwidth to fit in a decent number of OT figs.

My other concern with a Leia Bespin Escape is that HT has already done something like 4-5 Leias in four years (Hoth Leia was around this time four years ago, ST Leia, Endor Leia + Wicket/Leia 2-pack, and Bespin.)

As I posted earlier, I also feel like most don't consider the Bespin Escape to be an "iconic" Leia outfit - it's technically a variant of Hoth - and maybe because Kenner never did it. The Kenner connection clearly must have nudged HT to do the Bespin outfit.

Parted out figures don't seem to be a thing in China/Hong Kong anymore right? At least on Ebay.

I used to be able to easily construct figures piece by piece around the launch of a Hot Toy, but those sellers don't seem to exist anymore, or the ones that do are so outrageously expensive that you're basically paying the price for an entire figure just for a single head or body.

I guess the market used to be a lot more fair?

ya'll complaining about having a second bespin leia.... MEANWHILE THERE ARE SANDTROOPER VARIANTS STILL OUT THERE... SOMEWHERE... WHERE ARE THEY? I DON'T KNOW
